Even the 40 will fit on the 10 in full slide and vise versa. I have both and checked. Floyd's customs might have a slide as the have many sa, s/w, glock and a few other brands the stock for. I usually just buy m/p items from there, so not totally sure which/what sa items they sell?

springfield makes a cut slide for the xd service so you can add an optic

OK, I will ask. What prevents the .45 barrel from fitting the 10mm frame?Slide will fit, barrels however are NOT interchangeable.
Ask me how I know....

Converting XDm in .45 to 10mm
I have an XDm 5.25 barrel competition model in .45 caliber and was wondering if I can modify it to 10mm, maybe by changing out the barrel and mags?

The locking hoods are different.
I have a 3.8" XDM-Elite in both calibers. I was hoping to be able to switch barrels and mags to be able to carry either and only buy one Holosun 508t, well imagine my shocking surprise!
The hood on the 10mm is narrower than the .45, the barrel diameter is the same size in both. The .45acp would not lock up at the breech face.
The 10mm in the .45 slide was all over the place, as in NOT safe.

The hood locks up in the slide so if both the slide and barrel are changed then why won't this work as long as the lugs fit up correctly in the frame?

Do you have a .45 acp slide and barrel with no lower?
I ran a full size 10mm slide and barrel on my .45acp XDM 3.8" frame so yes that will work.
But my curiosity wonders if you have both upper and lowers, why?
The point I was making is even though they look the same, there is enough of a difference to make it impossible to just switch barrels and mags.

Yes, you are right, that would probably be the best way to go. I just thought being able to switch calibers would be interesting. Back when the Bren Ten was first announced they were to offer a version with 2 slides and barrels in 10mm and .45 auto. Dont know if any were ever shipped that way.
I don't think offering a convertible had anything to do with their demise.So we see how that worked out for the Bren Ten.

Also LAR Grizzly Win Mags had conversations also…… the one I didn’t get was in 45win mag and had the .357 mag conversion kit with it
