Got two and half pounds of lean ground beef browning with a cup each of diced yellow onion, and green bell pepper. Added season salt, and garlic powder for browning.

After it's good and crumbled, it'll be made into the first this year's chili......

if this was asked earlier, i did not see it...

does anyone use either as a table item or cooking ingredient....."Himalayan Pink salt"..???

i am reading where there are "some health benefits" in this salt, over regular processed white/table salt...

yes, same amount of sodium, as white salt, but supposedly helps balance our ph balance and promote stable blood sugar levels......

it just does not have iodine like white salt...

i just bought a 1 lbs bottle at wally's world, and even there, it was over $6.00

by the way, it has a "pretty good" flavor to it....

i pretty much only use salt on my eggs, or on my burgers, if i am frying them up, along with black pepper.

thanks in advance.

Yes. The only table salt I use is either the HP salt, sea salt or kosher salt. All of which are better for you than regular table salt.

Just recently got into Sous Vide cooking. My Daughter gave me an Anova Culinary precision pro model cooker for my birthday. I have to admit I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised. I've cooked several steaks, beef & pork roasts with great results. Has anyone out there tried this?
We have had one for about 3 years now. Perfect steaks and chops everytime. Best prices we have found is if course Amazon. Perfect Christmas gift for yourself if you like steak, second perfect gift is a blackstone!

i have never used kosher salt, sea salt yes.

when i or the wife cook, when kosher salt is called for, we just use regular.

not too many recipes we use, call for kosher, which is why we do not have any here

Coarse edible salt is a kitchen staple, but its name varies widely in various cultures and countries. The term kosher salt gained common usage in the United States and refers to its use in the Jewish religious practice of dry brining meats, known as kashering, e.g. a salt for cashering, and not to the salt itself being manufactured under any religious guidelines. Some brands further identify kosher-certified salt as being approved by a religious body.
