Beretta 92FS, finally....

I know, I was just kidding with you is all TFL. I know you'll eventually get it, and I think you'll like it when you do.
I would've been all over it last June whole i was in OKC for the dr visit.

Finally the jd mech was out to get the estimate on cost of repairs due to the fire. Get ready for this

$~45k

Half was parts cost and half is labor:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

What a joke! It's like 23 or 28hundred for the grill. I'm about what's fair, but I don't think some of what was on the estimate was due to fire or damaged at all! I'll recheck tomorrow and tell jd to pi$$ off of i feel jd is FOS about repairs! I will not take advantage of the situation for something that might not be the cause of the fire.

I've been looking for the right deal on one of these for some time, and it finally happened.
A good buddy of mine manages a pawn shop, and he had one come in that dates from 2008, and looks nearly new.
So he quoted me a price, and I brought it home this afternoon.
Only real blemish is on the bottom left of the pistol grip, sort of a nick on the corner of it.

Now I have the appropriate facsimile of both weapons I qualified with.
looks like a beauty to me, great purchase. Congrats!!!

I get the Right to Repair newsletter and iFixit videos, etc. John Deere are constantly listed as making it impossible to repair their equipment yourself, or someone other than JD to do the it. At one point, they wouldn’t even share repair manuals with consumers or others that could do the repairs (not sure if this is still the case). I heard there are law suits against them for their repair policies which force consumers to have to use them for very costly repairs.

If it’s a lawn tractor just get a Murray repair manual because that’s who makes them. 😉😂

all tractor companies are the same way! they fight as they know how to because of the auto industry loss in this scenario. they monopolize the repairs in this case which they will lose 1 day! they don't want competition!

nope!

either in Wisconsin (or neighboring states) or europe when it comes to jd and new holland on big tractors. riding mowers (small 1's) could be made almost anywhere.
You're wrong dude. Trust me. I work with those machines every day. Monday I'll pop the lid on one of the Cat 305s and prove it if you think I'm lying. They may misleadingly do some "Final assembly" here, but the shite is made in China. The Deeres have Mitsubishi ( or is it Takeuchi) motors in them.

Deere riding mowers are made by MTD and have been for a long time. And they're garbage.

For clarification I am only familiar with heavy equipment, not farm tractors. Although if they're making backhoes in China I can't imagine them making farm tractors in Wisconsin. Maybe assembling them.

Im not talking about small machinery being American made, only larger stuff.

Deere, Caterpillar. American icons in heavy equipment. All made in China now.

Any Deere you buy in the US was most likely made in the US (possibly Mexico, but most products from there go to S. America). Deere also makes tractors & combines in Germany (for European consumption) and India (for Asia & Australia).

Otherwise, Deere has 10 manufacturing plants here in the US, mainly in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

(The cheaper a Deere-branded lawn tractors available at Home Depot, et al are built by other companies, but are also mainly built in the US & Mexico).

So you think a JD 50 G with a Takeuchi motor in it is considered made in the US ?

There is no heavy equipment that ISN’T built with foreign parts.

That’s the way it is, and it’s not gonna change.
There's almost nothing that isn't. When you pop the cover on one of those giant trackhoes and find a metal tag that says China on it, you know the once icon of American diesel power has been relegated to the middle of the pack somewhere. Which is my whole point.
