Big Storm A Comin'

We had some rain last night, does that count ❓

I am still with short sleeve shirt on and walking around house barefoot.

Me tinks, you'z guyz stealing all the snow for yor-selfz❓
We had a lot of rain and a little dusting of snow last night . However , you can have all this cold air we have over us right now. Going to get down to -2 tonight without the wind chill.

-24 this morning with a -45 wind chill.

A town nearby got down to -38 overnight.

Supposed to warm up to 0 but we'll see.
We only warmed up to a balmy -12 today, -26 with the wind chill.

A nearby drainage gave us some down slope winds to keep us abit warmed that town a few miles down the valley that got to -40 & -38. Lots of record lows set across the state.

Going down to -20 tonight, and up to 5 tomorrow, but we'll see.

A backcountry skier died in an avalanche up on the state line. They rescued the other two plus the body.

At 9:30 this morning it was -1 with wind chill of -18. The warmest part of the day will be at 4PM. Temp 5 degrees , fell like -2.

I know for some of you folks this is just getting started to be cold but for around here this only happens about every 10 years or so.

-15 at 8AM when this was taken. Not sure what the windchill is, but at this temp you'd freeze your face off in a minute so it really is a moot point. These sun dogs were brilliant tho...

We were -15 last night, they predicted a balmy +9 today but we never got above -5.

-14 tonight with a predicted 0 tomorrow, but we'll see.

Snow coming Tuesday night thru the rest of the week, with highs in the 20's.

My sister and brother are in San Antonio for the week getting my mom's house ready to put on the market. They are from FL. They are getting freezing rain and temps heading into the teens at times. She had to go out and wrap the water pipes. Boy did I hear about that! I told her about the below zero stuff we've been having, and she goes, "yeah, well...". :ROFLMAO: ;)

Hi,

Cliff, we usually wait until the snow is done before we start shoveling. ;):ROFLMAO:

If I would've waited until it stopped snowing, I would've had 18" of snow in my driveway. I shoveled it four times in three days. I was spreading out the fun. ;)

My cable internet went down Friday night. I thought a broken branch in the back yard had damaged it. Turns out they were unrelated. After trimming the branches Saturday I was going to call Spectrum but the WWW came back up Sunday night. I secured the cable today. I'm sure they have enough to do so I don't think I'll call them after all.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I'd never heard of raking your roof when I lived in Southern California...

Wanna have some fun? Here's the local park at the edge of my neighborhood.

Yes, the sun is for display purposes only. It provides no actual warmth. ;) :ROFLMAO:

That's not really too much snow to rake, in my region, but they things to watch out for are ice dams. But you folks did get dumped on.

Here...

Tuesday it warmed up to a balmy +5 so got out for some walks & doing business outside, and got a dusting of fresh stuff.

Yesterday, Mom nature turned the heat turned on and we got up to +16 so had to dress lighter to avoid heat exhaustion outside when doing stuff. a little more white stuff.

Stayed above -0 for the first time last night with a storm front entering the area with that warming things up into the teens to high 20's the next two days. May have to break out the shorts & T-shirts again. ;)
