Big Storm A Comin'

Hi,

This was my day. Here's the view before:

And here it is after shoveling and salting the driveway and "de-snowing" my truck:

It's 27° right now. We're expecting a little more snow tonight then lots more snow Thursday night into Friday. Saturday it starts going sub-zero. This California boy is loving the cold weather. High/low for Sunday - 2°/-12°, Monday - 0°/-11°, Tuesday - 1°/-6°. I think I'll wear two pair of socks. ;) I'll bet the Northern Plains states have it even better, I mean worse. :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
Our forecast is almost the same. I was going to go get my Masada tomorrow after work, but traffic will be a nightmare tomorrow so I’m gonna try to duck out of work early today and go up and get it.

I grew up in the Midwest and those epic snowstorms were a common occurrence. After 3 tours in SEA, and 2 tours in California, I developed a preference for warmer climates. Working in the PD in Ohio, the blizzard of 79 was the last straw. We moved to Florida and had a little ceremony where we destroyed the snow shovel that somehow got into our U-Haul. In the past 44 years we have seen a few days of freezing temps and snow flurries but that is just enough to kill the 'skeeters off.
When my dad retired and moved from CT to FL, he said he was going to strap a snow shovel to the roof of his car and drive south until someone stopped him and asked what it was. He said that’s where he’d stay. He landed at the Villages, when it was new and small. Now it’s a big city in itself.

It was 3 degrees when I left home this morning. I’m in the parking lot at work in Fargo and it’s a whole 6. Supposed to have wind chills in the negative 40 degree range this weekend so I’m not sure how far I’ll be going…

Well, you are gonna need to go ahead and get used to it I’m afraid.

After the weather comes in this weekend we’re supposed to have a week of sub zero low temps. Everyone is freaking out. Which is stupid. They think it’s rough, but I guess they’ve all forgotten about February.

We got 7" of snow. Have another big storm coming Friday, 10-14" expected plus daily lake effect snow for the next 7-20 days.
I've got my snow shovel ready.

The Arctic Front is just coming thru right now. Went for an extended walk earlier knowing I'll be hibernating for the next 5 days. Snow squall hit 15 min after I got home.

Temps tonight -14, hi tomorrow -4 & -29 Friday night, Sat temps +2 & -26, Sunday temps 9 & -21; all without wind chill & we might get down to -53 this weekend with the winds. Snow every day.

If you would, please post pix ❓
I love seeing huge snow pix while I am on my patio relaxing.

Where is this at? I miss those days!

Hi,

I was hoping to make it to the range today but I'm trying to keep ahead of the storm. Mrs. BassCliff took this picture of me playing in the snow.

This is the third day in a row I've shoveled my driveway. To much fun! 😆 And it's still coming down.

Thank you for your indulgence,
