CA Fed judge rules again mag ban, again.

There should be a 3 Strike Rule to end this repeated nonsense already…and require CA to pay all legal fees plus punitive damages to those affected.

My first carry license was through PA. Sent for it through the mail , filled the application out , mailed it back and before two weeks were up I had my new PA carry license in my mailbox.

Here in Illinois we have to go through 16 hours of classroom , shoot 10 rounds at 5 yards , 10 rounds at 7 yards , and 10 rounds at 10 yards . A B-27 target is used like this ---> https://www.amazon.com/CHLTargets-com-Police-Silhouette-Target-Without/dp/B071JLCTN6?th=1

No scoring just be able to keep 70% of your shots in the black.

To renew your carry license , we have to take a 3 hour class and another shooting qualification like the first. We also have to pay the state $150.00 for the license again .

Ahhh. There it is. $150 fee.

Even if capacity bans are lifted, it’s of limited, short-term impact. For our AR’s and magazine fed shotguns, cool. The ruling would be muted from a CCW perspective based on the California Handgun Roster. For many of the approved guns, an unwieldy, obtrusive magazine would be a gating factor.

From where I sit, I applaud the gesture, but what has to happen (and won’t under Bonta) is the Roster gets thrown out and gun manufacturers no longer have to be “California Compliant”.

Illinois carry license is good for 5 years and costs $150.00 plus around $150.00 for the 16 hour class.

The renewal class is 3 hours for about $40.00 - $50.00 and then you get to pay another $150.00 for the renewal license.

...and Newsom just signed a new law doubling the taxes on guns and ammunition under the auspices that the money will "be used to increase school safety and violence prevention programs."

I can't believe people put up with this guy and his bald-faced power grabs.

They have spent themselves to the brink. Anyplace to grab new revenue.

Exactly. And I'm willing to bet there will be zero accountability when those efforts accomplish nothing, if the tax revenue actually even goes to those things to begin with. And a few years from now, when no appreciable drop in the violent crime rate in CA is observed, the leadership will then twist that fact to justify asking for even more. They've done it over and over on a variety of issues in the state, all of which have gotten worse, not better, over time.

The second time this judge rules against the mag ban in California. If the first ruling against it didn’t change anything what makes one think that a second will? I guess it is movement in the right direction.

The really disappointing aspect of his second ruling is that he ordered the unConstitutional ban remain in force pending the State's appeal. They can play these legal gymnastics for years, bouncing the case up and down with their unConstiitutional laws being maintained throughout until they get a Supreme Court composition they like.
