Californians Are Running Out of Handguns the State Will Allow Them to Purchase (Legally)

It’s funny how the left likes to claim the whole spitting on retuning soldiers and calling them baby killers thing never happened. I personally know 3 VietNam vets who were spit on. All of them in California. And I was 5 years old when we pulled out of VietNam.

Thanks for your service brother. It means a whole hell of a lot to some of us.
Ive always thought this was ironic. Being born right after D-day.I have always ( and always will) have the utmost respect for world war 2 vets. In reality,we were in fact treated worse by them then most people. I , personally was not allowed to join the vfw in our town.As time went on & the drug thyme started to evolve. The talk got worse.I believe it was at least 20 years before I even mentioned anything about "that war" As time went on I was finally convinced that it would be healthy to open up

Most here would salute you for your service...(y)

That is exactly what they want. Where will the guns come from once they can't purchase any legally!

Thank you for sharing. Fascinating, because I would never have thought that WWII vets would’ve been so judgmental of ‘Nam vets.

Just for information purposes. I discovered some time back . That if you don't tell your story. When you die,it dies with you. After 6 years in the Marines I was discharged & went home.Got into the building trades. As an apprentice, most of the guys were in their 40s & WW2 vets.I never said a word but they found out I was a vet & then it started.I was an apprentice so I kept my mouth shut.Actually it started before I ever started work. When I applied at the union. The presedent of the union was a navy ww2 vet & gave me crap about viet nam not being a real war.It went on for almost 5 years. When I got my journeymans card. The owner of the company made me Superintendent. He said I had "moxie". Thank you Marine corps ! The tables had turned and now it was my turn.Like I said in a recent post.Being turned away from the vfw was a real disappointment. They mentioned something about drugs.45 years later someone saw a 1st Marine division pin on a ball cap I was wearing & said."Thank you for your service" I just smiled & said thank you.

Man, what a story. Way to hang in there. Did any of the attitudes from the WW2 vets ever change? Are you back with the VFW?

I never returned to vfw. Yes,it seems as the country did.The WW2 vets finally acknowledged our service , But for many the damage was done. I have talked to many WW2 vets and found that all of us have something in common. I believe you could go back a thousand years and here the same stories.I met a WW2 vet from germany one day at work.He was on a U boat.We talked and I came to realize we were in fact brothers. My one hope is that in time. Our country will not forget what the men and women who served in the 2nd world war did.I feel lucky to have been one generation behind them and was able to the stories first hand.My only desire when joining the Marines. Was to uphold their honor
