I spent several years out of high-school modifying 2spd power glides to fit VDrive drag boats (Lake Travis/Marble Falls), our shop also built the baddest stallspeed converters in Tejas at the time. Moved from there to tool and die shop, all the while involved in the dirt track scene as drive train support. Funny I have worked as a construction material sales rep for 30+ years. Never lost that love of anything to do with going fast.

I almost bought a 1977 Bronco used in 1979. I was going to trade my "71 Mach1 in on it. It was cherry and the guy over the used car lot of Ford made a comment about the stang would make a great ride for his younger brother. Then offered me $200.00 for my stang. I came real close to punching him. A few months later I bought my first 4x4 , a '79 F-150.

I really wanted that Bronco though.

Love that story, you made two good decisions that day! Not selling, not punching.
 
No, here to talk guns. But I have noticed the cars we drive are also clues to our personality, so since I am new I am wanting to get a feel for who is already on the forum. Plenty of room to talk cars and guns...I know this because this is mostly what my friends talk about!
 
That Fairlane 500 would be a great daily. Back in the early 90's my daily driver was a '68 Suicide Door Thunderbird. That thing was a pig off the line because of the weight, but it would drop into passing gear at the then current 55 MPH speed limit and really spool up.
