Car Folks and Gun Folks

I always kept a four wheel drive something around so I would not have to shovel my driveway. But this Jeep CJ 5 was my favorite. Note to self: Stop drinking at least 8 hours BEFORE picking up the paint gun.

I actually like it. It looks like it would work equally well as either snow camo or for hiding in a herd of zebra.

But.... I recently stumbled across a '94 Z28 convertible Camaro and will have to find room for it somewhere.

I spent several years out of high-school modifying 2spd power glides to fit VDrive drag boats (Lake Travis/Marble Falls), our shop also built the baddest stallspeed converters in Tejas at the time. Moved from there to tool and die shop, all the while involved in the dirt track scene as drive train support. Funny I have worked as a construction material sales rep for 30+ years. Never lost that love of anything to do with going fast.

I almost bought a 1977 Bronco used in 1979. I was going to trade my "71 Mach1 in on it. It was cherry and the guy over the used car lot of Ford made a comment about the stang would make a great ride for his younger brother. Then offered me $200.00 for my stang. I came real close to punching him. A few months later I bought my first 4x4 , a '79 F-150.

I really wanted that Bronco though.

Seems to be a lot of crossover between gun folks and car folks...guess it is a fascination with machines because I also like watches and motorcycles. Any other car guys on the forum?

Kind of like going to a "car" forum and looking for gun content and somehow being disappointed?

The first car I ever bought was a ‘67 Fairlane. It was green. Had a 289 in it when I bought it and a 351 when I sold it.

No, here to talk guns. But I have noticed the cars we drive are also clues to our personality, so since I am new I am wanting to get a feel for who is already on the forum. Plenty of room to talk cars and guns...I know this because this is mostly what my friends talk about!

That Fairlane 500 would be a great daily. Back in the early 90's my daily driver was a '68 Suicide Door Thunderbird. That thing was a pig off the line because of the weight, but it would drop into passing gear at the then current 55 MPH speed limit and really spool up.
