Another good reason to avoid large gatherings. An attractive and soft target. I read that he shot it out with police officers at the end and had explosives on board, I want to know more about that. It seems vehicle as weapon attacks are becoming a common terrorist technique.

This is because you don't have background checks, waiting periods, bans on high capacity gas tanks, silencer (muffler) regulations, bans on Automatic Transmissions that only the military should have. It is much easier to use cars/trucks, knives, acid, etc. No one questions automobile and knife purchases. With rifles/shotguns being so strictly regulated and registered in the UK, and handguns outright banned, this is just a natural progression for those wanting to commit acts of evil to switch to.

I'm seeing reports that it was a Ford F-150 Lightning. So I guess a battery powered vehicle is considered a giant suppressor. Wondering what flag the perp was flying from the back of the truck, as authorities have covered it up.
