Carnage In New Orleans

Hi,

Fox News link from the other thread:

Radicalized "citizen"?

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

So, Nawlins was woefully unprepared and lackadaisical with their security. Apparently, their automatic barricades were malfunctioning, and had been for a long time. So, they parked cars in front of barriers they put up in the street, but never thought anybody could go up on the sidewalks around them. Typical government malfeasance. And during the conference they were emphasizing they would be fixing the problems. Well, too little, too late. This is what Nawlins voted for, however.

not really much of an update during the presser
we knew he was a u s citizen
and army vet
truck rented and had been plate scanned doing border crossings often ,,, not sure of driver during those events
its a rental..could be anyone

ISIS flag was hanging on a pole on rear of truck
had explosive devices in truck
failed to make those go off
failure of press to ask about the lithium battery pack being used as an explosive or hazardous fire device
crashed some police cars blocking the street as bollards were down for re construction, and sidewalk was left OPEN
ford X page was hacked earlier with isis claims of attacks

ford f150 lighting is silent but deadly ...not to toss a smile but the press said no one heard it at high speed, until it crashed into the police barriers

per is DEAD on pavement
2 police injured and in hospital from gunshot wounds expected to recovery

at least 10 citizens dead and at least 30 injured
chief of police looks like a weak leader
senator kennedy UNPLUGGED :ROFLMAO:

prayers for the souls of the dead and prayers for speedy healthy recovery of injured

Politicians aren't law enforcement. The PD are responsible for on the ground safety.

The politicians are the ones in charge of the budget, spending, prioritizing and holding contractors to account. They bought this system from someone, who installed it, and have had nothing but problems with it. So, rather than putting their feet to the fire and rectifying the problem, they chose instead to wait until they got funding from another infrastructure project, and do half azzed work arounds instead. This was part of their last infrastructure package, which they obviously squandered, as is their mo. The PD can only do so much with what they had. Yes, it was their "leadership" from their supervisors on up, that are responsible for this.

Former FBI Special Agent Chris Swecker told Fox News Digital that New Orleans has "always been a problematic police department."

"This type of event is indeed predictable, and it is fundamental that you protect the highest concentration of people at the event. You have to question how a truck got through the perimeter. I can see a lone gunman getting through, it's hard to fathom a truck breaching that perimeter. I suspect they were protecting the perimeter with wooden barriers," Swecker said.

"I can guarantee you in Times Square last night they were protecting that perimeter with vehicles and solid objects. Security is a tough thing when you haven't had an event like this in your Venue in a while but the fact is this has happened twice in New Orleans since 2017," he added.

well
yes they have been
back in the day on shore patrol in the big easy, we had to tag along with the police units, in case sailors got into the trouble...what are the odds ??

i saw some pretty epic take downs of scumbags across roofs of cars and through the streets when they perps mouthed off to the police...
perp would see only one policeman, and BOOM there would be five or more appear when perp started the mouth rant

then the 2000s happened

This guy would have been capable of killing a bunch of people somewhere regardless of those barricades. But that location and crowd was an attractive iconic target. I agree with Swecker, NOPD has never been regarded as a professional department, and local government is notorious for ineptitude and corruption. Their response to Katrina showed what a mess they are and I have not heard of much improvement. I would have been surprised if their barricades did work right.

No doubt about the PD being problematic! I've heard first hand accounts of them knocking out drunk people for pissing on the sidewalk.
