I grew up on country music. George and Tammy, Waylon, Willie, Johnny and Merle. Still love that stuff today.
But somewhere along the line, Country lost its soul. What they call country these days sounds more like bad 90s pop music to me. They can have it. 🤢

This from a guy driving a 77 pick-up. 😝

Back when I was still working we always had a radio playing in the shop. We changed stations daily to cover every bodies tastes. I was usually too far away and with the background noise of a working shop, it was hard to pick up individual songs. Basically, there was a melody and a voice in the background.
On country days, I know they were playing dozens of different songs. But, I swear, to me it sounded like the same 4, maybe 5 songs playing over and over. Its all sounds the same. What happened to originality or creativity?

When I lived in Connecticut there was a country music radio station that I listened to all the time, great mix of music then one day everything changed and they started doing what you described. Same 15 songs every hour and to much talking.
