I have seen a few reviews on the Hi-Point carbine that have been mostly positive and for the price maybe it is one of the best bangs for the buck but this does not put it anywhere near being in the league of a proven battle rifle. The Hi Point carbines are proven. While ugly, they work. And in my post, I said, "capacity aside".
But, I will admit, I did fail to take into account 5.56 vs 9MM. That's a very fair point.
But, sorry, I just can't get past the looks of the Hellion for the $1700 price tag.
I mean, I think it's great they make it, and that people like it. I am just saying for my money, it ain't happening.
I only take looks of a firearm into consideration when it comes to owning firearms that will mostly be dedicated to the range. When it comes to personal protection, proven reliability, and comfort with the platform trump's appearance for me. Though I must say I do find the Hellion to be a good looking rifle.
I have a few pistol caliber carbines myself with some being factory assembled and some I put together myself and while I do appreciate all of them though I also understand their limitations.
