Colorado in the news

...and my heart goes out to those who did not. We have that same type of issue in MN.
To start a good faith and not at all confrontational conversation intended to really get an understanding of the status of our state, what is the issue in Minnesota you're referring to? I'm in the Cities but spend a lot of time up by Rapids and had a significant relationship with a gal up in Cohasset so I have gotten a lot of both sides of many issues. I'm quite interested in the TC/Rochester/Duluth vs the rest of the state divide.

I’m not referring to any specific issue. I should have phrased it differently. I’m only speaking of the frustration of the majority voting in concentrated areas of the state, where it seems like what the cities votes for goes and the rest of us are “rocks and cows”. There’s a lot of eastern MN that wishes we were western ND sometimes. That’s all..

They gad the problem before any from CA arrived

I get that. I talked to a lot of people up there, and out there, and down there, about that that last couple years. Lots of the people in concentrated areas don't get the rest of the state and vice versa. I've loved walking the roads up by Scenic State Park with a 12-gauge over my shoulder and gotten waves from people passing by in their trucks and though how different it'd be if I did that on France Avenue in Edina. Just different views on life, I guess.

My hope, and this is generalized across the entire country, is all of us being less scared of each other. I had a few ladies in MSP who lost their fear of pistols once the liberal, white collar guy they were dating took them to the range. Just that one little push. Soapbox over.

I love living where I live. I just wish we weren’t so highly taxed and, well, restricted in some ways. I get to with the walking the north roads. We go up around Northome, and life feels simpler there. We have family with a logging company there and lots of land so we can escape the crazy.

I tell people I stay in the cities 50 weeks out of the year but I live in the woods. I find good and bad in both. My parents had my up at Scenic when I was two weeks old so it's part of my DNA now, as much as the dance clubs, access to everything, and all that that comes in the cities.
