Harold Sakata
1948 marked the first time that the Summer Olympics were held since the 1936 Olympics games in Berlin. The Olympics had been put on hiatus due to the outbreak of World War II.
Harold Sakata competed for the United States Olympic Team for weightlifting and won a silver medal in the light-heavyweight medal.
On the basis of his wrestling work, he was cast in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964) as the villain Oddjob.
