Do You Own Too Many Guns?

you can have too many guns? That's like saying the universe has an end. "warning, you've exceeded the boundaries of the known universe. Turn back now.", Maybe there is just a sign posted "Universe ends here".

Please, don't anyone tell my wife that you can have too many guns. I hear "dear, you don't need another one" too often as it is.

It all started with a M91 three line Mosin, with Finnish capture marks. It cost $50.00 at a yard sale. I have a few “battle rifles” that I enjoy, which fed off from the Mosin. I have a few modern firearms the are the same or close to the original firearms I used in the service. Except for Ma Deuce, which is too insanely expensive. The rest? Needless to say, I see the occasional one and it piques my interest. Sometimes I can afford it.

I'm old school in preparing for things that go bump in the night, but they've proven
themselves on battlefields overseas: A 1911, M1A, and 12 gauge pump " trench broom".
Our beloved canine Diesel, sleeps on the foot of the bed and makes sure we are aware
if anything suspicious is lurking outside.

Hmm, how many do I have? In my working years I had an armory I could go to and check one out and use their ammo. So, I had no interest other than my duty weapons and a couple antiques. But alas, I retired and found the world of firearms had changed in the civilian domain and was like a kid in a candy store. With all the wonderment of new frames, optics, calibers. Although I did have some cool stuff at work, they were tools and now they are tools of joy and the quest for accuracy is never ending. So how many do I have. Not sure, haven't counted, so for the official reading this maybe a couple, maybe none. I just collect cartridges to use in cash. Yeah, that is the ticket, precious metal investment per say...

Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “Do You Own Too Many Guns?” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/do-you-own-too-many-guns/.

i’m a multi handgun/long gun owner and I get the point of this article.
to each his own and own as much as you want.
just like you I started with one semi auto 9mm pistol and ran it hard until i proved i was proficient with it to defend me and mine.
these days the older i get, the more i shoot only 2 of my ccw’s (glock 26 & 19)
because that’s what i have with me everywhere i go and they both serve the purpose that i look for which is protection and offense if needed.
I highly recommend anyone who has pistols, shotguns and AR’s, please get trained up on those platforms as much as possible.
just my opinion, but if i had a bunch of safe queen dust collectors but couldn’t afford the ammo and training, then i would sell off some in order to get some training for better proficiency.

If a man owned 100 guns would you say he has a arsenal or that he’s a collector?
If a man owned 100 paintings would you say he has an art museum or that he is a collector?
I can see a police force/arm/government owning an arsenal but not an individual…
How many guns do I own? What business is that of yours?
Do I have too many? No!
Do I have enough? Enough for what?
Do I need more? Yes, my collection is incomplete!

Does a politician only need one vote?

….. and I don’t understand the concept of selling a safe queen/dust collector just because it doesn’t get used
They don’t burn library books just because nobody reads them
