My club is gray they pretty much treat everyone as adults until they do toddler stuff then they get rid of them. It usually keeps those few that could be prone to think rules don’t apply on the up and up. So we haven’t changed any rules in a while other than they purchased some 22 or steel for the rifle range and put it on a far end and said “don’t be that guy with Centerfire there” stuff like thatThere always seems to be some knucklehead doing something stupid and then a new rule...
I usually don’t butt in but I did se someone with a kid and no glasses and I tried to politely address it. He response was we are only shooting paper” I said well so was a SORT guy that got brass stuck to his eye and he lost it in my agency your eyes if you think your immune from the laws of physics carry on
(In the case I mentioned part of certification was 4 man teams shooting MP5’s and Sis while moving MP 5 ejected into his eye hit brass stuck he lost it. It was common for us to go no glasses on that course because we had to Don gas masks and use OC Stingball grenades when breaching and engage with a gas mask. After that injury it was changed to mandatory eyes and billed ball cap. So stuff cray stuff can happen and nobody is immune)
We use to never use harnesses in tree stands but a bunch of injuries we learned we better, we use to never wear seatbelts but we saw how they do prevent more serious injuries so most do
