Electric or Gas for a Car

Never will own one, I’ll walk first, climate change is fake news.
the total kicker is that many people buy these ev's thinking they are doing something good (or to make it appear as such). in reality ev's, solar panels and wind mills are environmental disasters from mining of the rare earth metals for the batteries to the massive amount of plastics (oil) needed for turbine blades, to the inability to recycle any of the materials due to economics or technological hurdles. it will all end up on the landfill.
i do like the innovation aspect of it but will not be buying one any time soon (i couldn't afford one even if i wanted one.) it just doesn't pass the "smell test" for me why there is such a push to go so quickly in this direction.

If you don't need to cover more than 200-300 miles in a trip, live in an area where charging stations are abundant, don't have a problem with not being able to go anywhere while the vehicle is charging, are good with paying to have a charger installed at your house (if you own your property), can accept that when the batteries reach the end of their life it will cost you a lot of money to replace them and are willing to gamble that technology won't render your vehicle obsolete go for the electric.

Of course, the electric wave is just getting started so resale value of these cars is speculation at best. Safety concerns about fires starting in the circuits also need to be factored in. Service shouldn't be a problem, provided you live in an area where a dealership is close by; it's going to be unlikely there will be many independent repair facilities who can/will work on them.

Or, you can extend the middle finger to the woke fascists who want to run your life and stay the course of fossil fuel power. Until Hydrogen is practical, that is.
yeah, but did you know that even a landlord WILL BE MADE to install (and pay for) a charging station for his tenants..???

why should I AS A HOME OWNER-LANDLORD HAVE TO do this...????

you wanna buy a dang electric car..?? buy a gas powered generator and charge your own dang car..!!!!!!

this is where we can help the immigration issue..

1) we can hire an immigrant to open/close our garage doors...

2) we can hire an immigrant to fan us

3) we can hire an immigrant to jump in bed with us to keep us warm..(i'm warning up to THIS...!!)

4) we can hire an immigrant to hold a battery powered clock, and blink his eyes at 12:00
i was with you until #3. that is deal killer. too much risk for me:
bedwarmer: "hola. me llamo juan."
me: "donde esta juanita?"
bedwarmer: "juanita no esta aqui."
me: "uh-oh."

No electric here friends! But I do like comfort, reliability, and 4X4 err all-wheel-drive. So my choice was a 2014 Lexus RX450h and 30mpg, but barely. Love it. But momma wanted a hybrid, but with power so I said: Say no more, I got you babe.
