Firearm was purchased online. When going to pick up the transfer, the box wasn't put in front of me until after I had completed my paperwork. I opened the box and examined that everything was there, and that the pistol didn't have any major issues. It had a chamber flag in it, which kept me from seeing the overhang. With a brand new $1300+ pistol though, I didn't really think a deep dive was needed on the inspection. That's what quality control is for! Guess I learned my lesson there! lol...
And yes, I took the pistol down, cleaned it and reassembled. The only apparent issue is there's either too much material still on the slide, or too much was taken off the frame. Or maybe a little of both. The ball-cut on the slide lines up perfectly with the front of the frame, so all good up there. It's only the rear that is off.
strange, i have bought guns online, (my Colt Python, as well as 2 1911's comes to mind) and had them shipped to a LGS. i was able to open the box and check it all out, before i signed any paperwork.
i have 2 Dan Wessons, a Pointman PM 45 and a Heritage, i got at another LGS, i checked each one out (bought the same day), before i decided to buy them. at the prices i paid for those, you'd better believe i checked them first.
same with my lower priced, Tisas 1911, under $470. it got the same looksie as the Dan Wesson's.
even my Korth Mongoose, at $5999.99...i checked that baby out.
i assume nothing.
i think that was your downfall..."assuming"....
you "assumed" perfection at the cost, and are blaming the manufacturer.
further, did you buy from a bonafide dealer, or some schmuck?
i have bought guns via Gunbroker, thru real gun dealers, with great ratings. (always a very good purchase thru Gunbroker for me)
call them for an RMA, talk to a different person, using a different phone like i said, to cover up the caller ID they have on you now.
good luck, if you pursue this, you will get S/A to make any needed repair(s)
