Emissary in 9mm Fail to chamber

Anyone else have issues with their Emissary in 9mm failing to chamber a round? I have tried multiple brands of ammo and all different bullet weights and multiple magazines. The weapon will extract the spent round and feed the round into the chamber, but the chamber will not close all the way. I have to use the heel of my hand and strike the back of the slide to get the weapon back into battery. Is this an issue I have to send back to Springfield? Anyone else experience this issue? Thanks for the help.

I have tried cci, Winchester, American eagle, and Remington. The weapon was purchased in April of 2024 and has less than 100 rounds through it, because it is so hard to work with. Sometimes you cant knock the slide into battery and cant eject the round. You have to strip the magazine out and then if you ate your Wheaties that morning, you can maybe get the slide to rack and get that round out. It is very frustrating.

Call Springfield cust. service; they are excellent !
Describe exactly what you posted above.
Sounds to me like you might have feed ramp problem. Probably will have to send it in -but it won’t take long at all :)
Note: do not email them; they’re almost completely unresponsive to that. Call by phone !

I am not a gunsmith by any means, but it seems like it feeds about 3/4 of the way into the chamber. It almost seems like the barrel is to narrow to accept the round. Does that make sense?

Hmm… if u want, stick an empty mag in and pull the slide back to lock ‘er open. Take a picture of the whole chamber, then a close up of the ramp/chamber and post it here.

I will do that when I get home from work. Thank you. I will also post a picture of the round in the chamber with the slide not fully closed on it. Happens on almost every single round.
i had a Kimber do that...sent it back to Kimber, and the smith reamed the chamber. didn't matter the ammo brand, and it was a 45 ACP...but the same issue.

on my 2 CZ's, (non 1911 models) in 9mm, many times it was due to the OAL (over all length) of the cartridge that would not feed into the chamber.

i have found variances in OAL on many factory made ammo, that would not chamber in those guns.

i also found that when i reloaded some of my earlier ammo (made back in 2022/2023) and shot it about 2 weeks ago, (9mm in fact), the taper crimp was not "tight enough" and caused the failure to go into battery, as the reloaded cartridge didn't chamber all the way.

i do a "plunk test" but only on a few rounds reloaded, not all rounds...since then of course, i readjusted the taper crimp on my press.

so it can still be an ammo issue, but call Springfield all the same, most likely, they will want the gun shipped to them.
