Thank you.Looks really nice! Good job!
Never been one to “Waller”You got it looking really good. now take that bad boy and waller in some mud and try that winch out.
I can't say that, i done wallered in lots of things to trucks, motorcycles and fat women.Never been one to “Waller”
I believe you’ve mistaken the word Winch with Wench however I pass no judgment on your choices with your bedfellows.Keystone, when I see the word "winch" in the title it always makes me think of a long, lost maidan from my youth. She was a pretty girl. We were in some of the same classes, and she had a part-time job working in a massage parlor. We had a great relationship for a long time, but eventually I had to give her up.
Please no details.I can't say that, i done wallered in lots of things to trucks, motorcycles and fat women.
Well, it still sounds the same. But aren't a little bit interested to learn why I had to let her go????I believe you’ve mistaken the word Winch with Wench however I pass no judgment on your choices with your bedfellows.
Honestly not in the least.Well, it still sounds the same. But aren't a little bit interested to learn why I had to let her go????

Since you really want to know: She started rubbing me the wrong way!Honestly not in the least.
No disrespect.

Those antennas have to have a ground, the magnet is the ground, the magnet is not just a way to attach to your vehicle, if not, the SWR will climb and possibly burnt out you finals in the radioOk so I feel kind of stupid but the (2) 4X4 inch steel plates I ordered from Amazon ended up being stainless steel which has little to no magnetic properties to use for mounting my mag base antennas so I’ve ordered a couple aluminum plates to mount on the Thule bar and attach the antennas with super strong double sided tape.
Live and learn.

The one mag mount antenna I have has a vinyl film covering over the magnet, my guess is to avoid scratching the paint on a steel bodied vehicle. Those antennas have to have a ground, the magnet is the ground, the magnet is not just a way to attach to your vehicle, if not, the SWR will climb and possibly burnt out you finals in the radio
The magnet is the ground, the vinyl is to protect the paint, but the magnet must be on steel for it to ground properly or like I said the SWR will climb and possibly burn out your finals when you transmit, trust me, I have been into radios for over 30 years, CB then amateur, and I am not feeding you a BS line. The one mag mount antenna I have has a vinyl film covering over the magnet, my guess is to avoid scratching the paint on a steel bodied vehicle.
How exactly would that magnet ground??
I didn’t say you were!!!The magnet is the ground, the vinyl is to protect the paint, but the magnet must be on steel for it to ground properly or like I said the SWR will climb and possibly burn out your finals when you transmit, trust me, I have been into radios for over 30 years, CB then amateur, and I am not feeding you a BS line.
I don’t think that will work, magnet needs to be on steel, plus you need to have the antenna on something so when you transmit it will reflect the signal, like on a trunk lid, roof and such. Most mag mount antennas transmit from the base of it, if you want to mount like you were originally stated, you need to forget the mag mount and get a top feed antenna with the proper type base.I didn’t say you were!!!
I’m learning and want to do it right.
So….
If I put a wire between the magnet and double sided tape (unshielded wire)
I’ll use to mount it to the Thule bar and the other end of the wire to a ground point on the truck would that be a sufficient ground?
