Fathers day range time

Proud like a peacock KF1977 says. IT shows too. But Killer, why in the world is that young lady shooting the hand gun right handed and the long gun left handed? It looks from here like she's right eye dominant too from the way she's holding that long gun, and her stance when holding the hand gun.

Over many years of instructing, I had much better luck convincing the shooter/student to overcome their preferred stance/hold, and hold/stance according to the dominant eye. That wasn't always the case, but more often than not.

Glad you had some good dad time on the range with your favorite student shooter.
I'm the same way with long guns vs handguns, but originally shot all south paw. My left wrist has been not as usable since 1/1/87 and not able to handle recoil even with support hand.

Oh yeh, I can see she's doing it well. I've seen some of her previous work too. I think that's what surprised me so when I saw her stance with the long gun. My wife is right eye dominant as well, shoots hand guns right handed, but shoots long guns left handed. She's pretty much ambidextrous and can work with either hand as well as the other. She's an artist of sorts, painter/instructor of landscapes/seascapes (does not do it professionally anymore), but does all her painting left handed.

I certainly meant no disrespect in my observation, it was only an observation. In fact back in post #20, I tried to make that clear, but somehow the msg came across as an edit of myself. Don't have any idea how that happens, but anyway ...
Tell her jumpinjoe said to 'keep up the good work'!!!
