Fauci on Gun Violence: ‘How can you say that’s not a public health issue?’

They are trying very hard the force the hands of others with this health issue crap. Dr. Fauci is a tool plain and simply. He also seems to be getting more and more narcissistic.
"I get to be on TV all the time, people get to listen to me, I get to make rules and regulations, it's just great to be me".

I found it very funny that supposedly he sued some newspaper for showing that picture he had in his room at the school, laboratory or wherever it was at that had Che Guevara on it. So honestly I'm not sure if he idolized the guy because he was a doctor or idolized the guy because he was a Marxist socialist Communist take your pick...

Why is this guy even relevant anymore? You learned everything you needed to know about him when he insisted everyone mask up and then he was photographed at a ballgame with a couple pals while unmasked. Then he says we should wear 2 masks because one isn't enough ( Duh, we told you from the beginning that a mask would not stop C-19 virus particulates). Then we need a vaccine, but we still need to social distance and wear a mask. Now we need another shot and maybe one every year like a flu shot.

Clearly this guy just speaks because he likes to hear his head rattle. And no doubt he is enjoying his newfound media fame.

Enjoy your 15 minutes Tony. When it's all over you will go down in history as a partisan buffoon.

Not sure I could have said it better myself. Spot on Bassbob...

A 2016 study from Johns Hopkins University found that 250,000 Americans die each year due to medical errors by doctors. If Dr. Fauci thinks the roughly 36,000 deaths per year caused by firearms are a serious public health issue, what does he consider the 1/4 million deaths per year caused by doctors making preventable mistakes? He may actually be qualified to address the avoidable deaths caused by doctors and hospitals. I wonder why he isn't commenting on that issue?

Very well said, read my thoughts.

His inconvenience may come to mind?
I unfortunately know 1st hand of poor medical issues and practices. The biggest problems are for patients who found out too late they're only statistics in some peoples minds? Also found out the real humanity has been out of medical system for far too long for too many people with only the gleam of greed and ignorance in their actions and eyes?

One thing that really perturbs me is when the political "nincompoops" say: "We're depending on science to get us out of this mess" or the "we only listen to the science" hoopla? .... all the while, who's conveniently forgetting to mention who created and who helped to create fiasco in the 1st place? Hint? It wasn't a wise old owl just hooting around was it?

For roughly the same reasons, I suspect, that we all but ignore the approx 35,000 deaths each year on American highways. It’s only a number, a statistic. It’s almost never 10 or 12 at a time killed in a wreck, (and “dang!” we say, “I like using the freeway! I can live 45 miles from work instead of those urban neighborhoods with their drugs & guns !”)
Hospital deaths by accident due to treatment? Well, the highest ‘expert’ you could call to pass judgment are the docs themselves.

By the way, that 36,000 gun deaths includes suicides which are half to 2/3 of the number. Mental health, again. He’ll never mention that angle though.

I believe it also includes police related shootings.

Pay close attention to what they say and grasp their true aspirations with respect to gun control. I recall stories of pediatricians who refused to accept children as patients if there were guns in the home, based on AMA or CDC declaring guns were a public health issue. Florida has a medical privacy section in Chapter 790 of Florida Statutes which prohibits such foolishness, and some left wing state rep has proposed legislation this year to have that provision removed. During the Clinton Administration the military had a question on your annual personal health assessment as to whether you owned firearms. Most of us did not answer the question, or wrote "none of your business". It's the same old liberal playbook coming out here.

I am not letting go of what I posted earlier. It is a problem. Population of Illinois is 12.6 million. If overhalf the murders are committed by a percentage of the 13%,
I believe it also includes police related shootings.

There is only about 15,000 murders a year with a firearm.

While the it is the weapon of choice for committing murder, guns account for about 10,000.

330 million people !5,000 murders. Equals about 0.00004545% of the population dies from murders of all kinds. With only 0.00003030 from homicide with a firearm.
!5,000 murders with 5,000 committed by other than fire arms means that 1/3 of all muders are committed by other means than firearms.
Now with a projected 393 million guns in the US, you can put 2 and 2 together and see that guns are not the problem and are nothing like the anti gunners would like to make out.

Sorry, had not had my coffee and had two thoughts going on at the same time. I started off trying to point out one states numbers, but then went with the whole countries and did not delete what I had started. I think everyone here is capable of 2 plus 2 equals 4 and carry the 1. LOL

!5,000 total murders with around 10,000 being by firearm.
Jesus, I am glad I know what I was trying to say, because now that I am more awake I can see it looks like gibbersh.

Lol, I was trying to think of a diplomatic way to ask about that 🤔

Here in Pa., I've filled out Medical Health questionnaires (normally when seeing a new physician or signing up to a new Health Network), and one of the questions is "Do you own any guns? Are they kept in your house?" (or words to that effect). I always just answer no, keeping it simple thus avoiding any further conversation on the subject.

Here you go. I am awake now.

0.00004545% of the population dies from all kinds of homicides.
0.000033% die from firearm related homicide.
About 1,500,000 violent crimes are committed each year.
Of those 1.5 million less than 30% are committed using a firearm.
There are an estimated 390 million firearms in the United States.
Firearms are not near the boogeyman, or problem they would like for people to believe.

It would be nice to know how many violent crimes are prevented by the potential victims possessing a firearm. I read stories here and there and see the NRA publish some random stories, but I'm not even sure this stat is documented.

I had to get another doctor over the past year due to my old one retiring, they did ask about if I owned any firearms, I blatantly told him that’s none of your concern, this has nothing to do with you treating me, and if this is an issue, I can find another doctor. I have this Doctor now and the gun issue never came up again.
