Update: I contacted Springfield Armory and they are sending out a replacement front sight (under warranty). The representative thought possibly the original sight wasn’t machined to the right specifications. I will install it and .Contact Springfield Armory and see what they can do for you.

I agree. .40 and .45 pistols seem more apt to this happening than 9mm, due to the recoil. I have noted that Trijicon replacement sights for .40 and .45 come with a thicker tighter base that needs to be fit into the dovetail. Call SA, they will probably have you send the slide in. Watch the video by Dawson on installing a fromt sight in a dovetail.All these solutions seem to me to be not the best plan. I would say send the damn thing back to SA and let them fix it. If you do any of this stuff in an attempt to fix it there is no way that will be then covered under any warranty by SA.
