Full Knee Replacement Surgery

UPDATE - 6 weeks out and walking w/o assistance...but carefully mind you. ROM @ 124 degs. PT group pleased. Lost allot of muscle tone in this short period of time. PT 3x weekly.
Just started to ascend steps with the surgery leg. This is awkward whereas I don't have the full strength yet to easily make that transition...but it's all in the game.:)

continued success to you.....

OK fellows I'm sure each one of you has a different perspective on this so here goes...How long does the mechanical clunking persist?
Ok so, did you have that early on. I'm just shy of 7 wks. I've read where it's quite common. It's the weirdest damn feeling.
It is a strange feeling, but for the most part has gone away.
yes, well wait till you have testicle replacements with steel balls...

damned clunking and clanking never goes away...its sorta like this all day long...

Checking in my good men.... here we are 2+ months post-op, plus 9 wks of PT complete and still going through growing pains so to speak. Mechanical clunk still persistent...depends who you talk to some say it will subside; some say it will always be there but to a lesser degree...so who the h#ll knows.
Doing my daily rudimentary exercises learned from PT. Still have nerves to the inside of the knee in the patellar area that get annoyed even with pillow pressure. That in itself keeps me from getting quality rest.
Alright enough with the whining...trust all is well in your world.
Later.

I'm now 4+ months out on my total knee replacement surgery. I too had all those problems you speak of. The "clunk" has gone away. For the most part, I can now sleep in all positions. I just need to work on my strength some more. About the only pain I have now is when it is damp and cold out. Just a small dull ache. It's my other knee that gives me the most trouble now. If I wind up getting disability retirement from work, I'll get total knee replacement surgery on my other knee sometime this year. If I wind up staying on at work, I'll have to put off that surgery until next year sometime, as I won't have enough leave time saved up this year for the recovery period. I hope your recovery goes as well as mine did/does. Hang in there!
