Getting old

No to put too fine a point on it, it NOT the age, it's the MILEAGE.......

I'm a walking advertisement for Service acquired problems, and sneaky heredity......

I've had BOTH hips replaced, rheumatoid arthritis, borderline hypertension, tinnitus, hearing loss, and various other acquired ailments.

In my head I'm still agile, but the reality isn't what the head thinks.....

Okie dokie, can't do those surgery because I have SCA but I managed to get the tendons in both elbows moved and shortened because I blew them out in 95 and only have 30 percent of the normal use. In 2002 open heart surgery which was one of the early beating heart because it could not be restarted. I have 5 stents and in 2013 I had to have a dual defibrillator put in my chest because of SCA. I now carry a DNR because I'm tired and my blood type ,AB negative is not readily available in my area. When I go out I use one elbow crutch because the one was taken out of shopping cart while loading groceries into my car. I have to wear knee supports when I go out. I also have to wear a splint and glove on right hand because of trigger finger and other damaged bones. The cancer removal from my spine in 1988 where they were worried I might be partially paralyzed. Right after that my appendix literally exploded and almost a month in hospital to rid of poison. 1960 my lower back was fractured by a bumper jack beating and still have some metal pieces there.Almost lost my left thumb when 2 guys in Naples Italy tried to rob me and I grabbed the knife when he tried to get me. Oh there's more but I'm weary.

Dude, I'm pretty sure you're invincible.

No way, in 2012 my wife was just starting to go over to a friend's house to visit and she heard a loud thump she found me on the floor not breathing, she called 911 they said ambulance was on the way and she started CPR (she broke 2 ribs ) she said our dog tried to eat the EMTs and when they got me to hospital 30mi away I was dead again and they said had to get me in operating room that's when she told them I had a DNR so I was in a coma for over 18 hours and then woke and called her by my other wife's name. My kids came to be with me in my last hours. After almost 2 weeks they take him home and make him comfortable. When I got home she let the dog greet me and that's when I started come around. My wife got chewed out for getting me to the hospital. I now remind her everyday to let me go, I have been here to long but who knows what she will do. I will tell about my being part of a expeditionary force sent to the middle east and other places in 58 59 and sixty. The times I have been shot at. Couple of my doctors said only the good die young. I think it's time for a Jack and coke and a nap. Stirred a lot of of things, thanks for reading and comments.

And they haven’t found a way to kill you yet.

And I thought being stabbed twice, shot at 4 times, in 3 car wrecks that should have killed me but didn’t leave a scratch, a marriage to a smoking hot woman who tried to hire a hitman to kill the guy she left me for and numerous misadventures I won’t go into made me invincible. I see now I have a long way to go.

LOL, I can light up a metal detector when I am unfortunate enough to have to go through one. They usually call for reinforcement's. And it ain’t what I am carrying outside of my thin skin (that’s a whole nuther thread).
Hip, knees and the most recent complete shoulder replacement. That one was a kick in the nutz I’m here to tell you. Thank goodness it was not my shooting shoulder.
I hear locusts 24/7 but have learned to live with it.
Like Bella said above, keep moving, or it’s a downhill.

Yep doc told me awhile back no more invasive surgery so I I wear my DNR around my neck when ever I leave the house. I was also told that a hard hit on the device could end my days same goes if someone uses a Taser on me. But its all good I had a full life. I try to stay in motion as my job as caretaker of my wife is at the top of my list so I try and stay mobile.
