gov employees (congress etc) freaking over an audit

USAID has been found to have funded gain of function research in Wuhan and funded the leftist media outlet Politico. Along with a whole bunch of other very sketchy stuff that if people knew about it they would want it stopped immediately. And stopping this abuse of taxpayer funds has many people claiming it is a coup, it is fascist and demanding Trump be impeached.

I don't know man, but given the last election I would think people who want to get support from the American voting public might not want to pick this particular issue to wage a war on. Of course they are being goaded into it by congress critters who are and have been no doubt enriching themselves through it. It eludes me how democrat leaders are so easily able to convince the left that anything that disrupts the status quo or threatens their power is anti democratic and we must all protest and revolt.

They are still playing out of Saul Alinsky's playbook.

From my point of view on Musk or any other of Trump's appointees. Trump has a mandate. How he carries it out within the law is his call. Like Obama said, elections have consequences. Although I get some joy from liberal tears, the same old screeching and whining puts me in mind of spoiled toddlers. When do they start burning their cities and police cars? They used "racism" to the point that it is meaningless. Now they want to use "unconstitutional" until it is worn out. Get over it, you lost and your tantrums are not working for you. Learn to use reason. The adults are in charge now.

Ahhh it’s about HIPAA , social security numbers and personal information. 🙄

It’s pretty apparent why they are upset.
Nope. My concerns are about what I wrote above. Don't assume to know my mind. Also, get out of your bubble before you comment on mine. Bongino is just as much an empty shill as anyone on MSNBC, just more aggressive and less smug. Typical MAGA playbook: rant a lot and as soon a trumper starts questioning the party line they throw out "DEI!" and "WOKE!" and the whole "independent thought" thing stops. I'm not saying the left is much better about that, but I'll definitely call it on right wing commentators.

I won't argue with you about the merits of particular agencies, because I'm not sufficiently educated on them all to do so. I stand by my point that there needs to be oversight and guardrails. They want to audit government? Fine. It's particularly high on my list of priorities, but fine. Just don't do it on the up and up.

Holy crap, we have those here defending the corruption that doge is uncovering. Keep screaming....you all are now uncovered. Let the light shine in....
Yeah, go ahead and reframe it like that if you want. Never ask a question about whether its be handled poorly.

“Expecting full transparency is a very dangerous expectation. Loose lips sink ships and all that. Your tax money is almost certainly going to pay for intelligence assets in very unfriendly parts of the globe. No chance should the general populace, given Americans are not a critical thinking people, have access to anything touching that.”

Oh, I get it. Most Americans are not critical thinkers and we have dangerous expectations wanting to know how our money is spent. Best just Pay up and don’t ask any questions.
Orange man crazy, orange man bad.
Gotcha
Just with what has come out today is alarming enough. The louder the squawk the more they have to hide.

USAID has 'demonstrated pattern of obstructionism,' claims top DOGE Republican in letter to Rubio

Well, there is no doubt that billions of dollars are spent on pet projects in other countries while people here struggle. You can at least understand why the voters decided they wanted to put America first right ? And that democrats acting like the president doing what he literally promised he would do on the campaign trail is, shall we say, not going to win over many new voters for them right ? Even Rahm Emannuel and David Axelrod are trying to tell them they need to STFU.

I can understand the desire to put America first, yes. I've gotten on a lot of lefties I know, and tried many times to reach out to my two senators, to stop pretending everything is fine here. On the whole, we had the best economic recovery in the world coming out of COVID. To many of the people in the country, though, inflation and the unreal cost of housing, interest rates, rising food costs, etc have been crushing. It's not at all a surprise people want to focus on domestic issues and I don't fault them for it one bit. The question of how to do that is another matter. Democrats shot themselves in both feet in 2024 by completely ignoring that. Republicans at least resonated some understanding of the spot Americans are finding themselves in.

As to not winning over voters, that's debatable. There were plenty who went into the voting booth with the "He won't really do THAT crazy thing he said he would do, right?" mindset. They might very well change their tune. Case in point: I have a Korean immigrant colleague who voted for donald. I've gotten several "What did it do?" texts from him the last two weeks over Gaza, Greenland, preventing the NIH's and CDC's outside communication, and more. I'll give donald this, he does what he said he would do, even the terrible things.

Well let’s be realistic. A lot of the stuff he’s trying to do he’s not going to actually be able to do. And some of the stuff is no doubt going to be struck down by the courts. And some of the other stuff will simply be put back in the next time a democrat wins the White House.

It’s been two weeks. Maybe we should give him a little longer than that before we start talking about violence in the streets.

Thankfully the talk of violence in the streets due to the president has been minimal if nonexistent. I'd chalk violence up to other social conditions before I blamed it on any one political leader. Though tensions are certainly high, I'll point to things like regular people getting hosed by insurance companies and banks before I'd put it on politicians. People do get angry when they have a hard time affording food and shelter. Maslow and all that.

I agree a lot of what he said he'd do won't last in the long term.

Log in to YouTube and start looking at the comment sections of all the videos that have suddenly made an appearance. People no one ever heard of posting videos blasting Trump are getting thousands of views and comments. A few I saw just yesterday:

“ Too bad about the 2 misses”

“ You know what they say, 3rd time’s a charm”.

And those were on one of Robert Reich’s videos.

One video about arming yourself was rife with comments from far leftists who apparently ( according to them) are as many, as well armed and as well trained as the right and all itching for a confrontation.

Endless comments from people who make no sense and are calling for all sorts of action. Impeachment, hanging Musk, etc. Mind bending.

And that was just a couple hours one afternoon scrolling through YouTube.
