I'm sure some here will recall me referencing 5.11, usually in the context of " Yeah, if you want to look like a cop". And frankly I still pretty much stand by that. However, I found myself for the first time ever in a 5.11 store today. So what do you think happened ?

I myself was pretty impressed with the store, the employees and their wares. My wife on the other hand wasn't impressed at all. Nearly everything I grabbed to look at or try on she made comments like " There's nothing special about those". Or "That material on the expandable pocket is going to rip". They actually had really good prices on several nice Benchmades in the cabinet too.

Anyway, I bought a pair of Ranger Green Competition Shooting gloves. They're very nice. I also bought a pair of TDU Green Taclite pants. If they hold up to my abuse I will likely buy 3 more. I was set to buy some of the other pants they had, but the Taclite have more going for them for what I want them for. Bonus is they were about $25 cheaper per pair. I do see myself getting a pair of their heavier canvas pants in the future though.

Given the rest of my appearance I doubt anyone will mistake me for a cop. :)

I have worn 5.11 clothing for years because it is durable and functional and the belt loops are in the right place, with plenty pockets for all the junk I carry every day. I also have a pair of those shooting gloves and love them. And I guess I look like an old retired cop. Or maybe just an old tired one. I find it more of a challenge to look dangerous nowadays. My lady barber thinks I look like Santa.

Sign up for their emails and be on the lookout for sales in July. I never pay full price.

Based on your avatar I agree with her. :ROFLMAO:

You're right about the belt loops. Reinforced in the right spots and plenty of smartly located pockets. I noticed some of them had "Adjustable waistbands" too.

How come when I said that I got a ration of sh!t? How the mighty have fallen.

Did I mention that I bought a Canik? You and KF can arm wrestle over who’s gonna cave first and play SimonRL mini me.

I've seen a picture of you. You definitely don't look like a cop.

I still can't believe you not only bought, but bragged about a Turkish firearm. Must be the whole Brit/European " We are all one, no borders " crap they infuse you guys with at birth.;)

Brits are not Europeans, thank you very much. But then again, neither are Turks, that was an Obama "idea". In other words, it's hopeless 🤣😂🤣😅
