The following is just MHO , but it seems to me that many people in the 2A community including this very forum do not grasp just what the Bruen decision at SCOTUS means for us. That decision took away the two step scrutiny of firearm cases , it actually took away strict scrutiny. It took our firearm laws back to what our founders intended in the year 1791.
This law my state is trying to get passed will not stand and further can not stand the test after Bruen. Several states have already had their bans on standard capacity magazines over ruled. A couple states have already had their age restrictions for firearm ownership over ruled.
IF this Illinois law gets passed , and very likely it will , lawsuits will be filed immediately . If that happens , yes it will have to work it's way through the court system but we will win.
This is not the time to lay down and give up. It is time we go on the offensive and stop the crap we have had to put up with for way to many years.
