I'm new...

So just to show/tell yous i'm dumb and ignorant....

I had no clue TAL was Springfield Armory based/made forum. And the mix up of my email and a forum was not a mix up or a spam thing as i thought it was.... hahaha...

And a Prodigy is a dream gun to me, it felt good/great when i got to fondle 1, months ago, but it's cost is well past my leeching means. My means(?) are more like, saving pennies a month to get a cheap slingshot to CCW next year.... lol...

I sometimes visit another XD related forum but I like the community here much better.

Do you currently own a handgun gun? I don't think you've mentioned that. Your local range probably has rentals so you can test drive a variety. I know you are saving up for your "dream gun" but if you'd like something to train with that's affordable and dependable, I would suggest the XD9 Mod.3. Online it can be found for $300 or less. Just a thought. I really love mine. I have the original XD9 Service as well. It was my first love. ;)

If it's the one I think it is, it is the one that got me the invite email to be a founding member. Which I ignored for about a month as I began deleting my presence on all forums. Eventually decided to join TAL.

I have some things I could say about some of those people on the other forum, but A) I don't remember any of them specifically at this point and B) If you don't have anything nice to say, blah, blah, blah.

Don't get me wrong, there are some great people on that "other" forum. There are a couple of folks I'd just rather not deal with. I still login on the rare occasion.

So my brain and mostly empty pockets had a conversation behind my back that taught me my "safety" is more important than anything else... stupid them... lol...

So i started to look at "pieces" of Glock, Gen3 Clones for my CCW(and hopefully 1st CCW/gun). I'm not as bad with my savings as i've mentioned in other posts and a recent thing i found out i could do, will help me get to Glock, Gen3 Clone low-end prices ($300ish) by mid-late summer. Low-end 1911DS is still a year+ away for me even with the extra savings...lol...

I do not have a gun of any kind. Just some practice days at a family friend's "backyard" range and guns.

I was traveling for work and missed three days... that said, I think the OP P has been on here before.

So for this, i have searched this forum before asking(through the contact link) if i was a member of TAL, which i was told i wasn't. I had/have 2 different internet names since i started getting into the internet back when the internet was dial-up speeds. And those 2 screennames and 1 email address were not signed up here. And the screenname i have here "now" was made up for this forum only. Mostly a internet paranoia thing for me...

So i kind of have a curious mind about how/if you "know" me as a member and about when it was. (I had some health problems nearly 2 years ago and i only started re-remembering (what i'm calling it) things the last few months.

Yeah, I shot OPG (other people's guns) and rentals, off and on, for quite a while. I have a side hustle and that's my mad money. I've been able to save enough to afford a little bit of a gun habit. I've even bought a couple of used guns that were a really good deal. I found a screaming deal on guns.com, one of their "make an offer" used guns. I made what I thought was a low-ball offer and the seller accepted! Wow! I wasn't really planning on buying that gun. It's a good thing I had the money saved up.

Anyway, feel free to ask around. These folks are not shy with their opinions. While your first gun may not be "the" gun, we'll try to make sure you don't get a bad one to start off with. You'll be able to train, practice, and get familiar with all the procedures and protocols while saving up for your "perfect" gun. Don't forget, range rentals are your friend. All the best!
