Inflation is hitting ammo

thing is, yes ammo pre made in a factory, prices are going to go up. but of course prices for the home re-loader are going to rise as well.

you ain't gonna get out of this, no matter which you choose to do, buy ammo, or buy components.

i wanted to start reloading, now frankly that is up in the air for me still.....too many other things going on for me to just up and buy the press, and associated parts, then the components.

right now, it's easier for me to buy a few boxes of ammo at a time, and store it away.

then just watch for sales, like i have been so far. 1 box or S&B .45 ACP, FMJ, cost me $28.00 the other day. down from the well over $40 a box months ago.

I am with you old me totally agree

This is NOT to be political at ALL. This is just a heads up that ammunition is going up even further.

My inkjet cartridges went up from $54 to $74. they got a little electric chip in them. It would not be a big deal, but my printer uses 9 of them.

We may have seen the best it will be for ammo in the pre-virus, pre-Biden days.

WOW.....i have an older HP printer, that takes color and black ink

i "usually" buy the "XL" meaning it's the same sized cartridge but filled to the max, over the lower priced half full cartridges....

i think it's like $45? for the black and $55?for the color..??

i do not do any fancy, or important printing, like some people have to do.

i don't think it matters anymore what we buy, the costs are continuing to rise, for one stupid reason or another.

Our main gun shop has kept their shelves pretty full the last month or two. Prices aren't pre 2020, but they are better and the supply is there for most types. The more common sizes offer a pretty good range of entry to match so you can buy what you want to pay for. Actually received a pretty decent shipment of 270 last week so that was nice to see.

I went into my LGS yesterday boy they everything but your butt better be puckered up and walk the hell out of there mark is so high definitely force me to shop online or big stores like bass pro sportsman warehouse I take the long lines any day. The mark up must be close to 300 dollars over crazy some cases it’s 500 dollars over . I am not helping them sorry went off the subject I am talking about gun prices I sure it’s not a place you want to purchase ammo too

I bought some at different times online. You have to check multiple times per week or they're gone. Their email notifications do not work, so don't trust it. They were spendy, over $100/1K, but if you don't have them you can't shoot. I used to buy them at about $150/5K, but times are different. You do what you have to. Beware of online sites that offer primers, most are scams. I only use 3-4 that I can trust.

As long as primers aren't available they WILL jack you around on loaded ammo!!!!! They DON'T want you too have the ability too buy primers period! Now with vista outdoors owning remington ammo IT WILL BE BAD!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 ammo and component suppliers!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Yeah. I just bit the bullet and bought a gross of small pistol magnum primers off Gunbroker. I was going to hold out until they became more available but with Vista deciding they aren't going to take any orders for the foreseeable future they aren't going to get any cheaper. Still a lot cheaper than buying .357 factory rounds.

I did buy a vast amount 4 years ago and my current supply is still fairly large? I'm not like those regular guys that feel the need too burn threw 1 or 2k a month and complain about component shortages! Primers were bought when prices were @ 2 - 4 cents/piece. Now being 10+ per/piece is a HUGE joke! When they make a shortage when demand is high they can make 4+ X as much! At bruno's they are selling 20k small br primers for $2,700 last I remember. Brownell's sometimes has cci450 at a decent price, but no other primers (2k maximum purchase).

I check every where I go and buy primers where I can. Some online and some in stores.
Blazer 45acp uses SPP. WinNT does too. Some Speer uses SPP.
I like to build special rounds when I can. I am going to make 45acp wadcutters with light load. That is why I like reloading.

Interestingly, 10mm is cheaper locally at $26.99/box of 50 (S&B JHP) than online at $700/case. Ammoseek.com has been letting me down the last few weeks...
