Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “Is the .45’s Stopping Power a Myth?” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/45-acp-stopping-power-myth/.
I prefer .45 for all the right reasons. That said I usually am carrying a 9mm. Also for all the right reasons. We should do a poll here on the armory life - those preferring a .45acp of their choice loading and platform vs one for the 9mm and 40 (maybe 10mm too is that isn't blasphemy lol) and see. The q is if you had but one gun and two mags and there was 3-5 assailants which would you choose and why. - full disclosure - I'm an Xer and still prefer a 45 or 10mm over a 9mm so there.
Same here. Got a 642 myself. Be 68 next month and a 1911 is somewhat cumbersome. However in a distance situation a good 1911 could be more beneficial. I'll take the 642 for basic up close and personal. A gas station pumping gas in a neighborhood I'm not familiar with. The ATM. Shopping. Good light little revolver. Will get it done.I've been a 1911 .45 guy for most of my life. Bigger holes are better.
But I have to admit that as I've gotten older I find my little 642 .38 on my hip more often.
No. Not with Marine issue ball.Where he had hit the enemy in the back was a small hole. They rolled him over and his chest was blown out. There was no need for a second shot.
