^ For the mechanically inclined, that's definitely possible. When I first started, I actually didn't even use a vise for the lower - I freehanded everything.

That lower is still chugging along today.

I also didn't pay much attention to the quality of parts: I never vetted their origin/manufacturers. I also never checked critical dimensions.

The gun runs just fine, but later on, after I knew better, I went back and re-did it.

It's definitely not that it can't be done without specialized tools: it's just that there definitely is a proper way.

Don't know much about semiauto AR platforms other than that they are extremely popular with all types of versions and accessories available. When and if I do get one. It will be a SA Saint AR10! "Bring Enough Gun"

It's looking like anyone planning to buy receivers who doesn't want to pay extra to have the uppers serialized ( assuming you can find someone to do this) ought to do it within the next few weeks. Word on the street is the AFT is fixing to re-define " Receiver" in the beginning of April.

So would serializing be getting a Goast gun registered with a serial number? All my arms have lagitimat serial numbers. Wether registered to me or not. Can any explain "serialized" to me? I mean, is it a good thing or bad thing?

Uppers aren't serialized, only lowers. What it means is you can't just buy an upper receiver from Brownells and have it sent to your house. It will have to be shipped to a FFL and you have to undergo a BGC and transfer ( 4473) the same way you do with a lower now.

It gets worse. This also affects 80% frames and lowers. And the pistol brace rule change will be coming soon after. At least that's what the YouTube guys are saying.

I ain't getting all worked up again. I shared a vid from "mrgunsngear" and it turned out to be false information. I know it's not a proactive position, but I ain't gonna get excited. I'll just wait and see what transpires.
