I was searching YouTube for reviews on the M1A Socom CQB because I'm possibly interested in picking one up and i stumbled across a really good YouTube review of the rifle from a reviewer I haven't previously heard of so I decided to share.

Does anyone here own a Socom CQB and have a few pros and cons you'd like to share? If so leave some comments on the rifle below. If you have any pics post them to.

Several trainers have complained when some folks have ran a M1A SOCOM or Squad through any type of CQB.

I have seen a few in use in an indoor range and will tell you it’s a BAD IDEA!

The main issue is the blast is so horrendous you’re touching off a flashbang at yourself every time you pull the trigger.

But to each their own. Good luck

Good advice, but I was just thinking of getting the Socom CQB model rifle not using it for CQB. Definitely a good take away for those thinking of using it for home defense or actual CQB.

It's not difficult to replace the proprietary Socom muzzle break with a flash hider.

I was hell-bent on buying this M1A, but when I shouldered it, I couldn't get my eye down to view the irons without cocking my head to an uncomfortable level. Obviously one could put a AR-hight optic on it, but the irons were WAY too low for me. Otherwise I would have bought one....JMO

I have one, I like the Archangel stock and it’s what caught my eye to persuade me to buy it. Still looking for a scope and maybe other accessories.
Here it is alone, and also with its big brother 6.5cm M1a also in a archangel stock.

Which model did you try? I own one M1A which is the Tanker and the sites feel natural for me. My Mini-14 also feels just as good.

I love the M1A. Its my favorite semi-auto rifle. 😁
I do have a standard Socom 16. Honestly, I prefer the straight stock to those aftermarket pistol grip types.
The Socom 16 is a nice, handy rifle and a good shooter. On mine I have to really tighten the gas plug or it tends to shake loose. Watch for that.
But all things considered, I prefer the Scout/Squad. I think its the best all around version of the M1A. (y)

Socom CQB. I've had a loaded standard for years, one of my favorite rifles with which I have no issue with the sight height. The Socom's sights are just too low. Similar to a stock AK's sights for my body...just a tad too low for comfort.
