My NEW Emissary...!!!!

went to my LGS this morning, after my range time.

I had asked if the Emissary had come in yet, and how many?

I was told ONLY 2 came in.....

I was told they came in yesterday, (but I did not go, I got tied up with hurricane clean up)

what "bugged me", is that one of the salesmen HAD my phone number, but i did NOT get the call.

so, one was sold, (they called the other customer)

only ONE left.....

i held it, racked the slide back, sighted it, (the sights are like a Hellcat)

and i took out my CCW ID card, took out my Debit card.....

and walked out with it, in like about 20 minutes of my arrival.

FULL LIST PRICE....

but I could care less.......

IT WAS MINE, ALL MINE.......!!!!

also picked up 2 boxes of .45 ACP, S&B for $30.00 each

i am going to post pics...there are like about 13, maybe, 14..

my hope is to get to the range or club, maybe Wed, or Friday

thanks, that's all the pics i got for now, pics of the targets as i get them.

it is also my very first 1911, where i have to "capture the recoil spring using that little tool..

was not hard to do, or all that difficult.

the gun WAS nicely lubed, but as a matter of habit, i field strip and clean and lube anyways.

A railed 1911 is something I don’t have, but want.

This might be on my list.

yeah, i actually had thoughts of going back to the range, but i am in the habit of all new guns, getting taken apart for a cleaning/oiling.

my very first gun, is my Glock G17, Gen 4, and when i got it at the range (they sell guns there), i took it out back and shot off 50 rnds.

only later, did i read it was always a good thing to take them apart, clean, lube......BEFORE you start using them.

oh well, the Glock is like my Timex watch, "it takes a licking, and keeps on ticking".

but it learnt me well, to NOT ever do that again.

especially with the guns and prices i have been paying!!
 
On the Glock, it has that copper paste for lube and break in, so it was fine to go and shoot it, technically, according to Glock, your not supposed to clean the copper paste out, it needs to be there for the break in, on other guns I always do a complete strip and clean before I take them out to the range.

yeah, i had some "dry guns", in the past myself.....

this Emissary, had been oiled from the factory, not dripping wet like my RIA was......

but when someone is in the habit of doing things, why break that habit???

ok, i went to my club, and took the new Emissary, along with 1 box of 100, Winchester white box, 230 gr, FMJ

also, i took 1 box of S&B 230 gr, FMJ.

the gun runs F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S-L-Y.....

NO failure to feed

NO failure to extract

NO failure to eject.

it shoots like a 1911, and of course, it looks a bit different

the squared trigger guard IS NOT an issue for me.

the grips are very good, and being "slim", they allowed me to get a greater grip

the checkering is "aggressive" and feels good.

i am posting ALL the targets that i used.

starting at #1....

then 1 paper plate...which was last, at again, 25 feet away.

at the club, we have to set the targets at 25 feet, which is roughly 8+ yards.

i normally shoot at the public range, at 7 yards
