Well besides the PTR 9KT I purchased last Thursday, I also picked up the new Walther PDP, and was ‘talked into” claiming the new Performance Center Shield Plus sans Safety that hadn’t yet been checked in. They tried to entice me on buying a Sig P210 Target one of the sales guy just received and was putting into the display counter, but my credit cards already being hurt, I declined. Well I get a text Friday, that the Shield plus was available for pick up, so I decided to go down Saturday to pick it up. Well, you guessed it, I also convinced myself that the Sig P210 needed a nice home as well. 😬

My LGS closed its doors last month due to ongoing affects of COVID. It wasn't from the virus, but instead a lack of ammunition and firearms shipments. I was sad to see them go, but I understand.

I tried to visit them as much as I could and rent a lane or two with family and friends, but that was until my ammunition supply dried up. I bought two handguns from them last year too, but it simply wasn't enough to help them stay open. I wished them well, and hope to see them again someday soon once things get better.

Added a plinker today to the collection

sweet rides !!
Congrats

That's a shame David. My LGS has pretty much had a good supply of firearms. When this pandemic started, they quickly ran low on a lot of them, and into the summer, I mostly saw several Turkish gun (Canik, SARs), and makers like AREX that I've never seen there before. Makers like FN, HK, Beretta, CZ, etc., were tough to find, where they once were more prevalent. I'm noticing now, these brands have started to make an appearance again, while some makes (like S&W) were always available there. In fact, they tried to talk me into a HK VP9SK with the button mag release, but I already have the same firearm with the paddle release, which doesn't bother me. The one thing I've noticed however, is there doesn't seem to be a lot of calibers besides 9mm fireams. I have several orders waiting with them, specifically the S&W M&P 2.0 45 compact and FNX Tactical 45, that I've been waiting over 6 months now for (ironically, as I'm writing this, they just called and informed me that my order of the Beretta 92X Performance 9mm just came in. I'll visit them tomorrow :sneaky: ).
As for ammo, they usually have the common calibers and sell it at below online prices that I've seen. They just recently ran out of the 9mm the past two weeks, even though ammo there is rationed to 1-3 boxes per person. Maybe tomorrow they'll have some.
Well I wish you and your LGS luck, and hope they can get back into the business soon, It does look like more firearms are becoming available, so maybe that's a good sign if that's happening elsewhere as well.

Great scores. Was eyeing a shield plus...some fair pricing on those around lately.
Thanks Lchtus. They also had non Performance Center Sheild Plus(es) with and without safeties. I liked the trigger better on the Performance Center model, but unfortunately they didn't have any that were optics ready or that came with the Crimson Trace optic. Kind of when I bought my non OSP Hellcat (after which I several OSP versions available, which is the way my luck usually runs).

Yeah, I'm seeing the same with guns starting to show up at gun counters. However, ammo is still scarce everywhere.

I do what can for small family owned LGS around in this neck of the woods. Buy what can if something's available and have need for it rather than big box stores. A few around here don't have web sites, have some firearms, but rarely have any ammo for anything besides 9mm if that. Firearms are generally MSRP at them too, but what they have, they have until they're gone. They rarely if ever get new stock. Would hate seeing any of them bite the dust. It's tough on them too.

I just got the Sig P365XT Romero yesterday. The "ouch" in my wallet was real, but is so nice to have this piece!

This was from Bass Pro Shops and they sold me two cases of ammo with it, to sweeten the deal. They only charge $18.99 for 50 rounds of target ammo. That was a nice change from the average of $50 that I usually buy it those days.

I used RetailMeNot site to start the order online, and that hopefully should give me back 8%.
Also used Bass Pro Shops gift cards (like $550 worth), purchased from an online exchange (CardCash) at reduced cost (at 8-9% reduction). I was kind of reluctant to do that, didn't know if the online system will accept multiple gift card numbers (I used three), but the saving was real.

PS: Here we can buy only one gun per every 30 days.

This came in today. I got a variety of ammunition, from regular .44 to Buffalo Bore +p+ to test out. Thankfully I found this tank before the trip to the Rockies with a new puppy and niece. They'd both be tasty snacks to a bear.
