New VP9 models…

Exactly. Train with it, conquer it.
Here's an analogy you'll understand.

I've been playing bass/guitar since before I was 10. Over 45 years now. Remember the first crappy guitar your parents bought you ? Or that terrible, rented acoustic when you took lessons in grade school? You know, the one with 14s on the high E ? You still playing those ? I could easily pick one of those bastards up and bang out a rousing version of You Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard, no problem. I'd rather do it on my Ovation or Alvarez, which I set up to my preference with a decent set of strings. Or even my Telecaster. My first bass was a Kay SG copy. Terribly high action. I was 8. I had no idea or ability to adjust the neck, string height or intonation. The basses I play now are expertly set up by me, have fast necks with low action and sound fantastic.

So you get one gun and only one gun. And you can't modify it in any way. Which one are you going to choose ?

I saw these earlier today and I was not moved to buy one. The changes from what I can tell are minor.

Unless someone wants to explain it to me.
Yeah, I want to feel the trigger, but…all of my VP9’s still have stock triggers. I’m interested to see how much *better* it is.

Beyond that, they already had an OR model out for several years, they’ve always been ambi…so you get a short grip model with the K, and both get a deleted finger grooves and more aggressive FCS on the slide.

So, yeah…it’s fairly incremental.

I still want a F though.

Mine are stock too. And I like them a lot. My Walther has a lighter trigger for sure, but I don't know that it's "Better". Just lighter.

What do the new models have that make you want to buy one ?
The F is basically a VP9LOR…which I’ve been dithering about buying for a bit (so I have SK, regular, Match and L models on OR configuration).

The K…since it’s gonna use a shorter mag, I’m not sure if I want one, as I’ve got upwards of 30 VP9 mags in everything from 10 to 20rd capacity….and while my existing mags will work HK doesn’t let its mags go cheap.

I’ll still probably eventually get one, though, just to complete the collection

The VP9 has one of the better triggers in a plastic striker; always has…always been ambi, night sights were always available…since day one.

Optic cuts came a few years later with OR models.

What rock have you been living under?

The rock where every one i've ever seen in a store were exactly as described previously. And every OR model i saw had the crap sights. Grip was ok but not my favorite. And the same ran on down the line for the USP's too. For the price they were asking it seemed they didn't come with what i'd expect at that price point so I was turned off by HK pistols majorly.

I figured an SP5 would be the first HK I buy, but this new VP9 might be first. We shall see. Really want an MR762 and bonus season is here. Didn't mean to rile up the HK fanboys but oh well here we are.

Triggers are subjective and, God bless America, each to their own. Out of all my handguns, I may have tried out three or four before I bought them. I think I own around twenty by now. Each trigger was a "surprise" for lack of a better word, and I learned so much from each of them. I have mushy ones that I plan on replacing, but most of them...even if I don't "love" them, I work with them.
As for other features, well, I want to put an optic on my SK, but I can't rationalize buying a whole new gun just for that, and maybe a slightly better trigger and shorter grip. Maybe someday if I come into a bucket of money that isn't earmarked for something else, I would try one of the new releases. For the time being I'm happy with the three I have.

Which one are you going to choose ?
Sure. My first acoustic six would have been put to better usage as a boat rudder. But, being all I had, I worked my tail off on that instrument. Many months later, I finally got on a fine guitar, and I amazed even myself with my progress.
That was my point; train with and conquer what you have. That "crappy" trigger can get the job done.

Prices on the optic ready OR have fallen out of the bottom because HK is going to discontinue them. I saw one listed the other day for nearly $350 cheaper than I paid for mine.

Sure it can. You could also get rid of your Martin or whatever it is you play and get a $50 Esteban POS that would get the job done. Donate the Martin to some neighborhood kid.

So what is on the F that y'all just gotta have.
Well for one, I already have 5 VP9s, so what’s one more? Seriously though, I have always thought the VP9 could do with being a bit bigger, without looking like the L, kind of like the 4.6 or 5 inch PDP.

I don’t disagree with the comments about this being an incremental change and I am a bit disappointed that the VP9 is not cut for a specific footprint (RMR) and still requires a plate. It also seems I’m one of the few people who likes the finger notches on the grip. I’m sorry to see that go.

But bottom line - MOAR HK!

Now if they would do something similar with the P30 and the USP.

An optics ready USP-C or P30SK would be an immediate buy for me.
