The good news is that it won't happen. Too bad more people didn't vote to recall him.

The amount of States needed to ratify and the way it is set forth by the founding fathers for an Amendment, this Newsom effort would be a miracle of miracles .
Its a stunt to say they tried.

Its like us saying the Democrats need to stop being stupid and become Republicans

Who will?
The dems dont have guns and all the LEO’s are conservative and own guns themsleves. As do their family members. Are the fed, state and local LEO’s going to take the guns from their own family and friends …

You'd like to think so, but my semi educated guess, based on conversations with a bunch of my cop friends and based on what happens in places like New York, Illinois and California, is that at least 40 or 50% of LEOs, maybe more, will follow orders even if it means violating your constitutional rights. So will all the alphabet agents.
 
Guys, gunowners need to fight fire with fire by calling for a 28th Amendment that defines "will not be infringed" and guarantees the right to own and bear firearms so there is no confusion as to what the 2nd Amendment means.

I retired 3 years ago from the Feds. I also have close ties and worked with a couple local agencies. While we have all seen the indoctrination of elementary HS and college students the LE and Governmental work forces have had the same “indoctrination”

There are a bunch of Military and Police that are anti gun and socialist leaning these days.

And along with this 28 amendment you have to look at those that hate guns have been trying to either legislate your right to self defense away OR they have out the Soros backed Progressives in as Prosecutors that file charges in every legal use of self defense with the intention to financially break that person they disagree with AND OR set a precedent to scare others from doing it

The latter has been somewhat successful as everyone talks about doing away with “Qualified Inmunity” (which really is a bad idea) when they should be talking about Absolute Immunity! AI is what protects Prosecutions Judges and the like from any scrutiny from doing far worse. You won’t get any checks wrote from a Prosecutor
 
The purpose of the 2nd amendment is to deny the government the ability to take our arms so we may fight against a tyrannical government. What Newsom in California and Pritzker in Illinois are doing is purely tyrannical. If they’re pulling this garbage while we’re armed imagine the nefarious **** they’ll do once no one is allowed to own firearms.

Chalk that up in the “Look at me I’m doing something” category even though anyone with a brain knows it’ll never pass muster nor will it become law because it’ll never get the needed 2/3 majority vote to add an amendment. This came what, 3 days after they announced Heals Up Harris as the face of gun control? It’s just posturing for his potential run for POTUS so he can claim he’s “doing something” and they can castigate republicans for not caring about mass shootings. Meanwhile the states/cities with the strictest gun control have the most mass shootings and California leads in both those categories.

Claims it “leaves the 2nd amendment intact” while essentially gutting it and leaving us with whatever they deem isn’t an “assault weapon” in their expert opinions. Eventually they’ll be going after the only remaining revolvers and a leftover blunderbuss.
His reference to moving the age to 21 is pretty ignorant considering they also want to move the voting age down to 16. You can’t drink until you’re 21 so why should you be able to own a gun? Who is responsible for the drinking age and wasn’t there an amendment that was repealed that outlawed drinking altogether?
