possible scam about social security..??

I have been somewhat lucky with scam calls and spam emails. I have a few email accounts with different companies and until 2ish years ago i had 2 phone lines, 1 apartment and 1 cell. The apartment phone had the volume off and voicemail. Important to me people get my cell#. And with tech as it is, only calls that come in without a name is always a scam and if not they can leave a voicemail. I have a phone and fingers that i can call them back with.

we do nearly the same thing here at home..the landline goes directly into an old fashion answering machine..

people that have to contact me, leave messages, scammers do not.

only my family has both our cell numbers as well, but scammers can still call on the cells as well....no phone system is scam proof.

luckily, i do not know how to set up voice mail, so only our friends call back.

I got a text claiming to be my bank on fraud.
“My card was used in Miami at a clothing retailer”
Press Y for if it was us doing transaction
Type CANCEL if it was not us and report fraud.
Was in a meeting preoccupied and pressed cancel. Texted family if made a purchase . Nope

The scammer calls my number and states they are my bank. Something seems odd. I dont give them 💩💩 for info. Tell them if they are my bank, then they should have at their fingertips all my info. They try to tell me they are closing my account then.

Ok close it then.🙄🧐

Tell them to F off. Nice try.

Be careful, as twice now they have posed as my actual banks

If I don’t recognize the phone number I don’t answer it. I block it and report it as junk.
Same with emails and text messages.
If you open it you just let them in

I use to do that, doesn't really work the way you'd think. Have a friend who works in a legitimate call center doing cold calls. The company changes their numbers every month.
