Potent Potables (aka What’s your poison?)

Well last night I took my friend "Jarhead Bill" out to my favorite steak place for his birthday. I usually drink Beefeater Martinis there. As a general rule I don't order premium gin in bars or restaurants since they're probably going to screw my martini up anyway. Well last night they were out of Beefeater so Tanqueray it was. Had two doubles, both of them were excellent.

Once in a blue moon I will have a martini. I don't even have gin in my house, that's how rare I drink it. Gin is like vodka to me, in the way that my pallet is not refined enough to tell the difference in either of them. Whiskey, on the other hand...

I was a big Tanqueray and Beefeater fan for years,
I cannot drink either anymore, burns my gut. This Plymouth I bought to try and found it to be my all time favorite, it is delicious.
Give it a try.

Abita has been having a lot of sales slumps lately. We barely move any in even N Tx
Tonight I am cracking the Clyde Mays Cask Strength Rye... it is pretty hot right, at least that first pour!

Here is your question of the day O wise Dr. Dram... bought a new pack of beer, so far every one of them has shot out foam upon opening. Is this a heat related thing, like maybe they were stored improperly?

Cheers

Heat, is a likely culprit or shaken hard. Off chance of unfermented yeast due to improper brewing or fermentation process techniques by the brewer

I'm pretty sure here somewhere I've mentioned I'm a stickler for Jack Daniels on the rocks with water by it and have been for many years. However not too long ago the wife and I went to a small place that unfortunately had no JD. The server apologized and said ... "but we do have Buffalo Trace". OK says I. I'll try that. I'm not real certain but may have found a new favorite. Dang that stuff was good. I've since added a .75 liter bottle to my bar.

Welcome to the good life…
