Project Prodigy 2.0

I have a Prodigy comp 4.25 and sent to DSC gunworks to for their partial mims replacement and trigger. It runs really smooth and then I added a cyclop comp to see and it truly runs flat, no hiccups on mis-feeds. I just purchased a similar gun from a new company which is swapping out the mim parts, trigger and changing grips. Putting it in price line of Staccato, Jacob Grey, and the other mid range 1911/2011. Shooting this one today to compare but it feels real good out of the box.

Welcome from N.E. FLA.

I purchased my first Prodigy in July last year. 5" standard. Production date was May 2024. That thing was a dumpster fire from day one.
I have described issues in detail in other threads.
The result was a replacement 5" comp model. Production date November 2024. That gun runs great. SA customer service bent over backwards to assure my satisfaction. Five stars to SACS.
I upgraded my 2011 game while all of that was going on and have not looked back.
Prodigy comp is living in the safe for now.
If you are looking for a "Project" the prodigy is a pricey base gun unless it's a used purchase.
If you want the performance of a certain brand I think you are better served to save up the bones to buy that brand/model. You end up with "Out of box" performance that usually has a lifetime warranty.

Jm2c, Thanks for reading,

Found a buyer for 5" Prodigy Comp. Just finished detailed cleaning and make ready. Buyer wants it factory configuration.
So that will leave me with a few extra parts for a gun I no longer own.
The negotiated price is such that I will not (throw in) the extras.
Dawson tooless guide rod for Prodigy
Dawson tactical advantage magwell for Prodigy
EGW magwell for Prodigy
EGW full length keyed guide rod for Prodigy (requires paper papar clip like wire)
(2) AOS plates for RMR/SRO
(1) AOS plate for Vortex Defender XL

What do you think, should I toss the extra stuff into the deal to cleanse the palate and be done?

Yes, I went "all in" with the Prodigy fantasy. Unfortunately both the original 5" as well as the 5" comp failed to meet the level of hype that led me to buy in.

Peace

Nope. Sell it.

I’d keep all the parts and sell them out separately. Or keep them for a different build, they will get used, I’m sure.
