I really like Paul.
He's pretty dry but his logic and reasoning are greatI really like Paul.
He's also not a braggard or know it all. And I very much like dry humor. He's an intelligent guy who's opinions hold weight with me.He's pretty dry but his logic and reasoning are great
Pancreatic cancer. I sure hope he pulls through.I like Paul too. His videos can run a little long, but he tries to be thorough.
I read somewhere that he was having health issues. I hope he is okay.
I lost a good friend to that back in the '90s. As I understand it, it's a particularly painful way to go. May God be with him, Amen.Pancreatic cancer. I sure hope he pulls through.
Mortality rate is very high with pancreatic cancer.I lost a good friend to that back in the '90s. As I understand it, it's a particularly painful way to go. May God be with him, Amen.
Exactly! He's also not a braggard or know it all. And I very much like dry humor. He's an intelligent guy who's opinions hold weight with me.
I beg to differ. The sound of a pump shotgun racking a shell, is the most recognized sound ever. Especially to criminal.
Hans- You forgot Shotgun myth #3! We're all doing it wrong! All you need is a double barrel 12 gauge, point it straight up in the air from your balcony, and fire both barrels to stop the threat as recommended by an "expert" we all know.
That's not bad. I'd do a couple things differently, but overall, I could "ride the river" with this rig.I've owned this Mossberg for well over a year now, but one thing I've been really stymied with on the Retrograde 18.5" is finding a light mount that works with the short barrel/tube + the heat shield. I know it looks cleaner and more 'traditional' without a light on it, but I believe a HD shotgun should have a light. Most mounts won't work with the heat shield in particular, and for the longest time, I couldn't find any solution that worked. I finally found this from CDM Gear and it mounts directly to the forward heat shield mount with longer screws, and works perfectly:

I already had an Inforce Gen 2 WML laying around that I wanted to use for this - it sits much lower profile than the Streamlight TLRs that I have, and I like the position of the tail switch on the Inforce. Of course, one thing leads to another, and given the length of the Inforce, it wouldn't attach directly to the CDM mount without toughing the fore-end slightly. Luckily, I had a low-profile 45º mount on hand which solved that problem:

With the offset, the Inforce mounts no problem, and is actually in the perfect position for my thumb to activate the light when the fore-end is all the way forward:

Also, here's a close-up of the XS Big Dot sight I put on the Retro. A huge improvement over the brass bead that comes with the gun:

And now that I've solved the WML dilemma, this is the finished product. I don't plan to mess with this anymore.

One question: Does that XS Big Dot sight have a tritium center? If so, I might be in the market for a couple of them. The old tritium sight I put on my M500 in 1989 is dead now, and my 870 needs one too.
Fabulous! I'm definitely gonna check into that for my joints.Yeah, the XS is a tritium sight, and it is very bright in the dark. Easy install.

I'll have one this year one way or another. I have others, but...I would love to own an M4, but for now remain an 870 Curmudgeon
