PSA vs Colt

While that is certainly true, it isn't universal. BCA makes their own barrels Wilson Combat makes their own barrels. Many companies forge their own receivers ( BCM, BCA and PSA do) .
And likely make barrels for others. Barrel making equipment for good CHF ones is expensive so those that make their own get work from others to pay the bills.

Before the unfortunate boating accident that took all my scary rifles I had a Colt. It was sold with no regrets in the 90's and I never looked back. I built a few rigs on PSA components, both lowers and uppers and only had one upper that was complete garbage. Really don't know why one would even consider between the two, there are numerous companies that make much better components than either of those. My last experience with that bad PSA upper and lack of customer service has forced me to stop sending any of my green their way.

One of the local shops introduced me to JP Enterprises. It's not exactly what I went in to shop for but the trigger was excellent and they're made just north of MSP. Does anyone have any experience with them?

They're legit. They make real nice springs and a good silent recoil spring system.

I ran a PSA as a duty rifle for more than 10 years. Rough and tumble capable, made through SWAT schools, Active Shooter school, our DM program. I would still run it, but where I'm at now a LPVO is a better option. I won't swap the red dot/magnifier combo out that has been there the whole time so I have a RRA for work. Still like my PSAs.

Yes.

Top notch, and they’ve been around for a long time…1980’s, I think?

I’ve got one of their GI trigger spring packs in one of my rifles; worth it.

I’ve also used their parts for other rifles; one their VTAC handguards, and some of their muzzle breaks.

Excellent kit, all around.

Then between you and Bassbob, I'll be going with the JP. Thank you both for your expertise!

I should add—my buddy bought one of their complete uppers, and it’s insanely accurate. One ragged hole groups at 100yds is not uncommon of the shooter does their part.

You will not be disappointed.
