Don’t you just love a sunny & cool day off ?!? Thought I’d take a few snaps 😎
Pretty decent complex we have here, and fairly isolated 20 min out of town. But nothing special.
I don’t do indoor ranges anymore for various reasons.
Would like to see any unusual range setups others might have !
Urban...wild west...maybe a replica segment of WWI trench, Lol !?!

That’s a real nice looking range, bet you had a great day out there, jealous here…..wind and rain here…..

I rarely go to indoor ranges nowadays as well. Usually only because I've come into possession of gift cards for one of the tourist ranges. Or my wife wants to shoot, but doesn't want to be in the heat.

The private range I like to go to is this one. It's only open to veterans and active service, so I have to go with one of my friends.

This is the public range I go to, my wife prefers this place. They're opened till 10pm one day a week during the summer months. So this place is great for low light training.

Often, I'll just go out to BLM land, setup some targets.

I like the way the first one is laid out...wish ours was more open like that. I suppose the heat can get way up there but looks arid ( as in, no NC humidity - the one thing I hated about moving back to home..) Do they require shooters to police up their brass?

Nah... I don’t either.
Been sorta looking for a Spgfld Saint though.

Word of warning. Putting them together is highly addictive to guys like us. I bought my first one ( Voodoo Innovations Witch Doctor) last August. I have since "built" one and am currently ramping up to "build" a second. For a total of three. And I am buying tools for them so I highly doubt I stop there.

I love my AR's. I just wish I had more money for more of them. My advice is if you are going to get one, do not toe dip, just get what you want right away. I bought a pcc ar9 and have done a lot to it, I may as well of just bought a higher end one. But I like messing with stuff too.
My saint, I added a vortex spitfire red dot and that is about it. I might put a sling on it, idk, I thought about a bipod also since it is my 300 and under yard rifle, but again idk. But basically it is ready to rock and roll right out of the box.

The first thing I do to any of them is a sling with QD mounts and swivels and an optic+ MBUIS. My first one was a complete carbine. Decidedly not high end, but it isn't a piece of crap either. It runs great. The only thing I changed on it ( besides the aforementioned sling and red dot/sights) was I put a Magpul grip on it. At some point I'll go very high end, but I doubt if I will ever buy a complete one again. It's cheaper and a lot more fun to buy the specific parts YOU want and put it together yourself.

I agree. My "cheap" one has not given me hardly any problems, but it left a lot to be desired, as one would expect from a cheaper fire arm. I suppose that is the same as anything a guy wishes to customize. I guess if you are not into customizing, you might save a few bucks, but once you decide to upgrade and get that ball rolling it does not take long before you have as much into a cheaper one than a more expensive one.
I have yet to build my own, and will possibly look into that someday. I am still in the stage of buying them, thinking they are a blast, then thinking of how they can be improved. My inner engineer coming out I guess.
