Went to test out the new lens in my eye today.

Maybe a bit soon, but I wore good glasses to protect myself. Couldn't stand not shooting any longer.
First time to wear shooting glasses in ages since I wore glasses to see every day before this.

Took X5 Max Legion and SA Operator .45
I am right handed left eye dominant.
Have shot with left eye for 25 yrs.

Well, extended the pistol to shooting stance and the new corrected trifocal lens felt better than uncorrected left eye.
Tried shooting with right eye……First couple mags went pretty well. 😊
6” target @10 yards

Felt better than I thought. Played around using left eye then right eye . Red dot had a halo from surgery still on unsettled lens, but wasnt too bad.

Open sight .45’s was a bit of a problem. Sights just disappeared fuzzy. 😳.
Worked thru it but not great

Went back to Sig X5 for right eye work
5 yards 3” target on orange
Felt great

1) Went to 7 yards rapid fire drill alternating each round between center and left orange 3” circles.. using right eye still.
went well. Few shots low🧐😠
2)Then shot at 3” splatter target right side@7yrds
Rapid fire. … much better 🙂🙂 guess black works better for me than orange.
3) then went after 1” orange bullseye upper right and hit 4-5 low, but a few in bull @10yrds. Not bad

Then put a 6” splatter at 25 yards to test distance and right eye.

First 2 rounds in same hole almost bullseye 🤩🤩🤩 and 3rd round way up high stratosphere .. WTF 🤔🤔🤔🤬🤬

@SimonRL was shooting his new Prodigy and Ronin

First 3 rounds in same hole at 10 yards with it. 3” splatter target.
Second pic is rest of that mag. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

My eye was wore out at that point, and time to call it for a beer. More .45 work will have to wait

I'm very interested in this as I'm supposed to have this surgery sometime between late January and March. It all depends on when my insurance company approves it for. I've decided not to do it this year so I don't miss out on any of the hunting seasons which run from October to January.

Well, it was amazing surgery.

Insurance paid for all except upgraded lenses.
That was out of pocket. I opted for $$$ trifocals that I needed vs standard non Rx lenses that would require glasses still for rest of life.

No needles for sedation- numbing drops
8 min surgery - pre /post op was hour
No eye patch
Eye sight was almost instantaneous - bright lights are tough still, but that will go away
Was life changing

I remember when my father in law had it done about 30 years ago. He would freak us out by reading things on the other side of the room that my wife and I could barely see.

I've been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade so for me it truly will be life changing. I already bought new safety glasses for shooting with after the surgery.
