Ryobi or Milwaukee

If you haven't picked yet, I'll add to the Mikwaukee pile. I have DeWalt, Ryobi, Milwaukee, and Ridgid. I prefer Milwauke, both corded and battery. They've been great for redoing the deck on the cabin and things like a desktop humidor for my brother.

Never have used Ryobi or Milwaukee tools. Have several DeWalt & Porter-Cable saws, routers & air compressors that have given me good service. All are cabled except one Dewalt drill/driver is battery operated.

People love to hate on Ryobi. But I would say more respected brands are really marginally better. They both get the job done. And while you'll experience a more controllable impact screwdriver with Milwaukee or Dewalt, Ryobi turns screws just fine.

So to me it really comes down to how often I make the small compromise to use a Ryobi tool or justify a Milwaukee.

If you're buying Ryobi look at Direct Tools Outlet. The tools listed as blemished (like guns) appear to be new and unharmed. They sell at a 30-50% discount under Home Depot

Ryobi is junk. I'm sure it works just fine for guys who rarely use them.

I used my Ryobi cordless tools to build my father in law's wheel chair ramp and had zero issues.
My Harbor Freight miter say, however, did not survive the ordeal. And my Ryobi drill is 5 times older than the saw
And I have a 40 year old Makita 9 volt chucked drill that will literally tear ligaments in your arm if you aren’t careful. Way more power than a DeWalt 24 volt screw gun. I can’t find batteries for it though.
