S/A GenIV Scope Mount

How do I keep the front screw on this scope mount from backing out?
I sighted my new S/A NM in w/Federal GM 168 BTHP’s.Shot 5 in a 1/2” group @ 100yds.This was after firing approx 6 rnds to get it in the Xring.
Luckily my first round-(no bore sighting) was @ 10 o’clock in the 9 ring.
Took it out a few days later on a hog and deer hunt.Shot at a buck 75 yds out....clean miss.Next day shot at a hog....clean miss.Looked through my scope and the vertical crosshair was canted 30degrees to the left.I grabbed the scope and was able to rock it and the base back and forth. The front base screw had backed out.I was EXTREMELY UPSET!!!
How do I eliminate that?I got it home, removed the screw, applied alcohol to the threads and the internal threads in the rcvr, dried them out and loc-tited it back in.Haven’t tried to shoot it since.

I have looked pretty much EVERYWHERE for the Sadlak mount and there are none to be found.I left a few return emails for some of the places to contact me when they are back in stock.
Thanks for your advice.
There’s nothing worse than having a rifle and scope that you can’t trust!

You can order direct from Sadlak. They have their aluminum model available.

I use one and it's the same design as the steel one, but lighter, and is solid.

Hey Talyn,I just got in from deer hunting and have been kicking this aluminum mount around in my head.I guess my questions are why is the steel mount so much more expensive,& why is the aluminum still available.
I’m on SSI,so whatever I buy has to work and $175.00 is a lot of money for me.
I’m just trying to eliminate as many variables as I can.
Have you had yours for a while,& have you had any issues with it loosening up?
I apologize for bothering you again,I just want to be sure before I buy the aluminum one,& thank you for taking the time to contact me.

No worries ansd apologies needed.

I would call Sadlak with your questions about the steel vs. aluminum mount cost differences.

Sadlak doesn't make anything that doesn't work. Both attach and lock up the same so unless either mount isn't propperly installed then I don't see any of their mounts loosening.

Mine hasn't.

Since the tab indicates the steel mount will be available soon your can ask them when they will be available, as well as why the aluminum mount is still in stock.
