School Me on Berettas, Please

So how big a boy are you? You got small sissy hands or hams? Makes a big difference with us guessing.
Excellent point!

My hands are on the small side of "average."

I like flat MSHs on my 1911s. Preferred long triggers for years, but am discovering that I might be even happier with short ones.

The Smith Ks fit my hand perfectly (that is, I can properly place my finger on the trigger for DA). I can JUST BARELY do this with a Smith N, but I have to carefully "fit" it to my hand--I couldn't grab it out of the holster in a good grip and do good DA work, whereas this is very natural for me with a Smith K. The Python is even bigger. The (old) King Cobra/Mark 5 frame seems to fit me almost as well as a Smith K. On square-butt Smith Ks, I like the factory Target Stocks, preferably the old "Coke Bottle" type. On round-butt Ks, almost anything feels good, as long as the backstrap is open. My 2.5" M19 currently wears a Tyler T-Grip adapter, and my 3" M66 has Pachmayr Compac Professionals on it, and they both feel great to me.

The Browning P.35 fits my hand almost perfectly, especially with the old Uncle Mike's rubber grips on it. (The grips on the SA-35 are almost identical to these, and they fit me great, too.)

The trigger of the Beretta M92/M9 series is out of reach for me in DA, but for my intended use for this gun, that doesn't matter to me. I'm not gonna be shooting it in any kinda competition. If I ever have to grab the sumbitch for real, it'll either be so close/fast/furious that I'll hit the target or I'll be fine with just using the first shot to set it up for subsequent SA fire.

Does that help? ;)

You bet. You mentioned the SA-35 -- I just got one and am thrilled. If there was any complaints it would be they ship with just one magazine. That is easy to fix, I got two MEC-GAR 10 rounders off eBay.

UPDATE:

I started this thread because I wanted to buy my son a CO2/BB replica airgun of his M9 so he could enjoy the same 24/7 basement shooting fun I've been having with my M1911, CZ75, P.38, and so forth. The only similar things available were the M92A1 and the M9A3, neither of which exactly matched his M9. I decided to buy them BOTH, let him decide which one he wanted and keep the other for himself. So I did.

Tonight we celebrated his birthday (which was actually December 4), and I showed him both guns, and he ended up picking the M9A3. Was sorry to part with it but I'll enjoy the M92A1--mine has a VERY smooth DA pull and a nicely light SA trigger, and I like the heavy weight of the thing. BTW, I test-fired both of them in my basement this afternoon and they both functioned perfectly and were satisfactorily accurate--AND I got four 18-round magazines out of one CO2 cartridge--that's 72 shots! Even better than the 60 I've been getting from my M1911 and P.38.
