Sig STX

Old_Me

SAINT
i put on order back in July a Sig STX 1911.

just got an email that mine came in this afternoon.

gonna pick it up in the morning. take it home, clean, lube, for a trip to the club "hopefully" Friday, run maybe 100 rds of new ammo thru it.

i wish i had the time today to go and get it, just impossible.

I do like the 2 tone, but a darker grip would be nicer or make the frame darker with the same grip color.

IF, and i say IF, Sig built this like before the pandemic shutdowns, looks like it has a magwell, that'll be the first magwell for me. also again IF, the specs say it comes with 2, 8 rd mags, unlike some recent 1911's i have bought which only come with 1. (either a 7 or 8 rd)

i don't know if Sig updated the web site specs, to the upstarted run of these.

i am stoked, adding this to my growing 1911 collection.

i had to do an inventory, this will be # 13...but since 13 is an unlucky number, i do have a recent Rock Island 1911 "style" and that is a 22 magnum....

so to not be "unlucky" with a #13..i'll go with the RIA as a 1911 in that collection.

Congrats on the Sig 👍👍👍🕺🕺🕺😍

13 is only unlucky if you believe in that stuff .

Nice add. These are not easy to get hold of. Congrats.
no, like nearly all the companies, during the pandemic, and buying frenzy, they stopped making the 1911's, in favor of guns that were in high demand, like the 9mm's....

now that Sig is back up and running, hopefully anyone that wants one, can get it, albeit, a possible "waiting list", like i had to.

ok, a few pics, range report maybe tomorrow (9/2/2022)

notice too, the Sig decal just under the S/A on the billboard..i was surprised to see it with the gun.

i have to download the manual, and check on lubricants. it comes from the factory, with a grease applied to it.

i will not clean this gun like i do for all my new purchases, i will run it with the Sig lube.

it was supposed to come with a free sample, but it did not, so i will tell the CS about that, maybe i'll get some?

@Annihilator did yours come "pre-lubed" ad did you clean/lube yours after the first shooting..??

my "plan" is to run 100 rds, winchester white box thru it.

ok, went to the club, took 100 rds, Winchester 230 gr, FMJ whitebox.

the Sig comes with 2, 8 rd mags, and i had bought several Nighthawk Custom 8 rd mags as well. (there were like $10 cheaper than the Wilson Combat that i usually buy.)

loaded up 4, 8 rd mags for the first 3 targets, the 4th, (last target) only had 4 rds

no fliers, all in the "light green", then dark green, then black/red.

i did not clean and lube the Sig when i got home, i will be taking it to the range tuesday, and shoot off at least 100 more rds, THEN a cleaning and lubing

the Sig shoots very well, i like it. it did take me at least the first 2 targets to get to know the sights.

another nice addition to my stable.

Good shooting, those Sigs are very accurate, mine also came with 2 8-round mags, great guns, now you need to get a Colt Competition Model…..😬

Sig uses grease on all their metal guns. I won’t start a debate on which grease is best or grease vs oil. I use TW25B on my 226 Legion. A lot of the Sig wonks recommend it.
