Smith and Wesson EDC

I just acquired an M&P9 about a month ago, and swapped out the medium sized backstrap for a small. Fits my hand much better. I love the heft and the feel, but I wish I was a little bigger so I could carry it. No matter how I try, it looks I have a baby's foot poking at my shirt. My Shield EZ conceals much better. I guess I need to bulk up on carbs or something...:cautious:

What holster are you carrying it in ?

Did you get the m&p with the flat face trigger? That is pretty nice.

I tried a Tulster IWB. Comfortable but heavy. I just got a OWB paddle and haven't tried it yet, (I don't have a life, but I'm working on it). I would definitely carry it out in the bush. Critters don't care if you print.
There's a big difference between OWB holsters as far as printing goes. Two that I like, which keep the gun close to the body and minimize printing very well are Muddy River Tactical and the Clinger "No Print Wonder". I think they have changed the name of the Clinger holster, but it's still available last I checked. I am able to conceal 4" full size .45s and 9MMs easily with these two holsters. I'm probably bigger than you, but probably not by much. I'm 5'10" and 165 Lbs.

Thank you for the heads up on that! I will check them out. I hate not carrying a gun that feels so good in my hand just because I am awkward with it... On a positive note...winter is coming.;)

Muddy River Tactical is great. I turned a lot of guys here on to them. Kevin is a great guy to deal with, the holsters are $60, the extra mag holsters are pretty cheap and if you put in the notes you want a double mag holster he'll build it for you, same price. And if you have any questions you can call him on his cell. And he will answer.
They conceal very well. I have 3 of them currently and will most likely be ordering another in short order since I bought an OR slide for my VP9.

I have the Performance Center Shield Plus and also the polymer M&P as well as the all steel M&P. Love all of em they're all keepers. And BassBob is right. After hearing about them here I got my hands on a Muddy River tactical inside the waist band holster and it's amazing. But like probably all of us on here I have a literal box of holsters. Just my two cents...

M&P's are the majority of my plastic guns and have no complaints. Custom and SA are my choice for 1911 styles. Agree with Bassbob on the Muddy River for OWB (Kydex) and a We The People Independence (Leather) OWB. Crossbreed and Black Arch win for IWB's. Congrats on a nice purchase.

All Of My Experience With The M&P Line Is First Generation.

I really like my M&P 9 and have no intention of ever selling it.

Where I think they kind of dropped the ball was not making something of a comparable size to a Glock 26 that would accept the full size magazines.

I had an M&P 9 and an M&P Shield.
I really liked my M&P Shield and I regret selling it but I just couldn't see paying for as many magazines as I wanted for a full size M&P and then turning around and paying for as many magazines as I would want for a Shield. Especially given that Smith and Wesson magazines are about a third more expensive than Glock magazines.

I sold the M&P Shield and bought an M&P9C (What they call the Sub- Compact now). The 9C just felt like a bulky little brick in my hands. I sold it within 6 months and replaced it with a Glock 19.

If they could have made a 9C that carried like a 6906 I never would have bought a Glock.

I was really interested in the new Shield Plus but it really fills the same space as the Glock 26 and I'm already dialed up for a Glock 26. I'm not reinvesting in a whole another system that covers the same space.

I choose the Glock over the M&P because if I go out and I'm carrying the Glock 26 I just grabbed the spare magazine carrier for that I use for the Glock 19. I don't have to have two different setups.
