Springfield Armory’s M1A Squad Scout

I've got a Vortex Optics Crossfire II 2-7x32 Scout on my M1A SOCOM, very happy with it. Eye relief is spot on. Here it is in the Springfield family trip to the range case:

And @hiker45acp hurry up and come to NH, we're kind of being flooded and turning purpler by the minute, thanks to the wonderful double/triple voters from surrounding states and their college kids who want to recreate the cesspool environment they're running away from in our state...

Yes, without having to move outside New England. Hope to do it within a two-year period. Housing market is pretty bad as most know, but have not stopped looking.
Tell you what, get a big properties out in the woods in NH, buy a camper to live in and I'll help you setup your outdoor range ;)

I did some trading earlier this month and now have a Scout in my collection after a 14 year hiatus... it came in the chassis stock and the only change that I have made so far has been installing a hooded gas lock front sight and a DC Vortex flash hider so I can use my Wind Talker suppressor on it.

Here it is pictured above my Socom length rifle, also equipped with a DC Vortex flash hider on an improved gas lock front sight base.

Those look like two different FHs ??

Not those two. The two in the second picture of that post.
18" barrel on top, 16.25" barrel on the bottom.
Both have a DC Vortex flash hider.

The 18" has a hooded gas lock front sight.

The 16.25" has dove-tail gas lock front sight base that is threaded for the DC Vortex.

We have seen some problems with the magazines shipped with the rifle. Quick trip to the military surplus store solved the problem (and doubled the capacity).
